Matthew Russell, president of the M-car and Alpina division’s for north America, gives a tour of the facility and discusses how BMW came to create their new “Frozen” paint scheme (shown on BMW’s M3 with Frozen Monte Carlo Blue). BMW’s head of body-and-paint technical training manager, Walter Malec, also discusses matte-paint technology and repairs. The F10 M5 is now in service a the BMW Performance Center in Spartanburg, SC and an M5POST member was on hand to be one of the first lucky drivers to sample the new 2013 M5 at the facilities. As previously revealed, they all have the carbon ceramic rotors. This is his account of the experience:
In short, the car is fantastic. Some may miss the screaming V10 but the turbine like rush of acceleration, pulling hard from a slow corner even in 3rd, is mighty impressive. Second gear was even more impressive but I wasn’t brave enough in the short drive to explore the limits of MDM at corner exit.

Here’s a rather unique BMW Individual color – the 2013 F10 M5 in Individual Cognac Metallic. This model was spotted at an Italian BMW dealership and retails for 105.900 EUR.
Good news for iPhone users. iOS6 is finally supporting iDrive Office integration via Bluetooth MAP (Message Access Profile). Bluetooth MAP is the protocol used to retrieve email messages through iDrive, which currently only works with Blackberry and a few other devices.

We took a recent trip to the BMW Museum and Welt where there’s currently a new exhibit on display – BMW Motorsports cars. The exhibit opened June 5th and will continue throughout the summer.
