BMW’s DCT is an excellent transmission and is now without doubt the fastest production transmission offered by BMW, but enthusiasts who appreciate rowing their own gears still get a warm fuzzy feeling when seeing a manual transmission in a new BMW model, even if it’s already been confirmed and has been seen previously — such as the 6 speed shifter seen in this F10 M5.
There are just a few US spec F10 M5s roaming the US being driven by BMW employees or on loan as press cars. One of these was just spotted (thanks Justin) in Newport Beach in Los Angeles.
The U.S. order bank for the 2013 M5 will open this week and full option pricing and order guides will also be made available. The 6 … CONTINUED
Authentic driving pleasure is not just for the real world – as Auto Club Revolution (ACR), the new online racing game and car community for PC, demonstrates. Different BMW M models can be configured for driving according to personal preferences. The online game from British game developer Eutechnyx features e.g. the BMW 1 Series M Coupé, the BMW M3 Coupé, the BMW M5 and the BMW Z4 M Coupé.
All that is required to play the game is a PC with an internet connection.
As exclusive launch partner, BMW was involved in the development of the online racing game from the early stages. Auto Club Revolution is not just a classic racing game with real-world tracks and realistically-detailed models, but is also designed to become an established forum … CONTINUED
Citrin Black is one of the recommended BMW Individual colors for the F10 M5 and we’ve also discovered that it’s one of the rarer BMW Individual colors ordered as there are not many examples of it on any BMW. Now here’s a shiny new example from M5POST member PeterM5 who just took delivery of this gorgeous Citrin Black 2012 M5.
It’s paired with piano black interior trim and platinum merino leather, making for a beautiful combination.
This weekend should see several more 2012 M5 (F10) North American deliveries as it’s the first weekend for Canadian deliveries after the cars landed and have had time to be prepped for delivery to customers.
This Alpine White M5 didn’t have to wait for the weekend however, as it has just been picked up by its owner, M5POST member bimmer.r.09. It’s an Alpine White exterior with Sakhir Orange interior, a striking combination.
Check out its first photos inside!
Here are the results of Sport Auto’s comparison test among the M5 F10, Panamera Turbo S, and E63 AMG Performance Package. The M5 doesn’t come out on top in the raw number categories, but still gets the nod from Sport Auto for its handling and overall dynamic package.

This 2012 M5 was traveling at top speed and lost control of the car as he braked for a car joining the highway. The 60 year old driver, 20 year old passenger, and a dog were all seriously injured, but are alive. Judging by the severity of the damage to the car, it’s a testament to the M5′s safety technology that no one was instantly killed.
It’s easy to forget sometimes just how much power our BMWs have and while they are some of the safest cars in the world, we are all still human, capable of suffering injuries and making driving mistakes (or simply suffering bad luck). So please be safe out there! F10 M5 accident crash
The M5 F10 is finally being delivered to North American owners! Congrats to M5POST member BMW0412 for being the first site owner to receive his 2012 M5. It’s a beautiful Monte Carlo Blue F10 M5 with Silvestone merino leather interior. Have a look at some of the car’s first photos and congratulate this lucky owner.
M5POST member cidair shows us how his recently delivered Silverstone F10 M5 looks against the E60 M5 in Silverstone. Both are beautiful cars. Check out the photos inside and let us know how you think the consecutive M5 generations compare.
Also inside are stats and photo comparisons we put together in the past comparing the M5 F10 to the M5 E60.
Have a look at a Frozen Silver F10 M5 fitted with BMW M Performance Parts, in black and carbon fiber. The parts provide a nice contrast against the beautiful matte silver exterior and gives the M5 an even sportier character by de-chroming.
The carbon fiber trunk spoiler (which the owner replaced the factory spoiler lip with), the sideskirts (which replaces the flared factory M5 sideskirts) and kidney grilles are all from the new M Performance Parts lineup. This M5 has also been fitted with gloss black gill trim and the exhaust tips have been blacked out.
