Sometimes it’s mad fun (and great sounding) to rip off some revs in your BMW in enclosed spaces such as tunnels or underground garage. So how would the 560hp F10 M5 MotoGP Safety Car with its Akrapovic exhaust system sound in the BMW Welt? As you can see in the video inside, pretty damn awesome!

SPEED has named its 2011 Drivers of the Year in three categories, IndyCar, USAC, and Sports Cars. BMW Driver Joey Hand was named the top sports cars driver.
SPORTS CARS (by John Dagys): This one was pretty much a no-brainer: Joey Hand. While others such as Anthony Davidson or Scott Pruett enjoyed dominant seasons, their success came driving for a single team.
Joey got it done with four organizations – Chip Ganassi Racing, BMW Team RLL, BMW Team Schnitzer and Dick Johnson Racing. From his career-defining overall … CONTINUED
Power, motion, and light inspired American artist Jeff Koons as he worked on the legendary BMW M3 GT2. VAC Motorsports brings us some sights from the 2011 Professional Motorsport World Show held in Cologne Germany. Lots of high performance parts on display – from professional racing (all the way up to F1) to tuning solutions for the casual racer and tuners like many of our members.
GC Automobile, a French racing team which builds silhouette race cars has taken a standard BMW 1M coupe and converted it into a radical looking race car, with a new heart. That new heart is an American Chevy V8 engine tuned by Sodemo Development to produce a maximum output of 550HP.
For those of us who take the M3 to the track, I think it would be fair to say that a part of us always wishes that the M3 could just be a little faster, a little lighter, and a little more like a race car.
Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as putting racing parts on our street cars — most of us don’t rebuild our brake calipers every year, drive on roads without potholes, or have neighbors who can tolerate the unmuffled music from our S65 … CONTINUED

IF you are a “car nut” (aren’t we all!) you ought to go if you are in the area. Here are some pics of the new M3 DTM car and its rivals (past and future). BMW also had a nice display of their Performance Parts lineup.
