The Nurburgring 24 Hour Race has just recently concluded and the BMW No.1 M3 has managed to make the podium with a second place finish! Porsche managed to take the top spot. The No.1 M3 GT managed to consistently move up positions throughout the race. At the 12-13 hour mark, the No.1 M3 was still running 5th, but by the 14th hour, the M3 had moved up to the number 2 position.

Over 7 hours of the 24 Hours of Nurburgring race has been raced and the BMW Motorsports #1 M3 is currently running in 6th place. Unfortunately the #7 M3 is running several lapse behind. Inside are some links to follow the rest of the 24 Hour Nurburgring Race.
Our coverage from M Festival continues. BMW had an awesome lineup of cars at display during M Night, but besides the new M3 CRT and the new M5, there were also the M3 GT2 race car, an E46 M3 GTR and the E90 M3 Ring Taxi on display.

As previously announced, BMW will be returning to DTM racing – beginning in the 2012 DTM season with a new M3 DTM race car. As part of the DTM event at Munich’s Olympic Stadium on 16th and 17th July 2011, BMW will present a BMW M3 DTM Concept Car for the first time.
Along with the 2012 DTM Concept Car, on display will be the 1987 BMW M3 DTM, the BMW M1 Procar from 1981, and the Mini Rally Monte Carlo car from the 1960s.

Twelve years after the BMW V12 LMR achieved its triumphant overall victory, BMW Motorsport is back on the podium at the Le Mans (FR) 24 Hours: In the hard-fought LM GTE class, Andy Priaulx (GB), Dirk Müller (DE) and Joey Hand (US) finished third in the no. 56 BMW M3 GT. Final-stint driver Hand crossed the finish line at the “Circuit de la Sarthe” after 313 thrilling laps and having covered a distance of over 4,200 kilometres.

Le Mans, 10th June 2011. BMW Motorsport secured excellent grid positions for the 24-hour race in Le Mans (FR). In the third qualifying session, Augusto Farfus (BR) set the fastest time in the LM GTE class, recording a 3:57.592 minutes lap in the no. 55 BMW M3 GT. This meant pole position for the 27-year-old and his fellow BMW drivers, Jörg Müller (DE) and Dirk Werner (DE). The BMW Z4 GT3 has been modified/upgraded for the 2011 GT3 race season, fine-tuning its aerodynamics for better performance and BMW’s ECU408 engine management controller, with the Power400 electronic control unit is responsible for controlling all the actuators. Gearshifts are now initiated using two paddles.

BMW Motorsport has just put out this short video thanking its 50,000 facebook fans.
