At the “Circuit Paul Ricard” in Le Castellet (FR) the BMW works drivers, Jörg Müller (DE) and Dirk Werner (DE), completed a total of 225 laps over the course of the eight-hour race. Berk Technology’s BMW 135i with GIAC custom software won first for the Street Tire RWD class, a new class track record and a new track record for a BMW 135i in the 2010 Redline Time Attack at Buttonwillow Raceway Park on Sunday. The Berk entry had a fast lap time of 1:58.839 and was the only one to break the 2:00.000 barrier.

What a great story this is! A guy with no previous WRC experience buys a $500 1991 BMW 318i beater off Craigslist, swaps in a M3 engine, and enters into the WRC Rally Mexico race. He has no pit crew, a co-driver that he never had any driving time with, and course notes from a Peruvian team in Spanish. He comes in third place in his class!

Driving an Alex Job Racing Porsche together with his co-drivers Butch Leitzinger and Juan Gonzalez, Leh won by three laps over the sister car of Bill Sweedler, Romeo Kapudija and Jan-Dirk Lueders. BMW Rahal Letterman’s two GT2 class cars (#90 and #92) finished 2nd and 3rd at today’s Sebring 12 Hours ALMS race! BMW cars lead for large portions of the 12 hour race, but the 1st place finish ultimately went to Risi Competizione in their Ferrari F430 GT.
