The driver was Performance Center Instructor Johan Schwartz in a bone stock F10 M5. They only changed the engine oil. The old record was 41 miles or 251 laps on the skid pad. The new record is now 51 miles and it took 322 laps on the skid pad to get the record.

For the first time we get a look at the i8’s production wheels, a 5 (or 10 depending how you look at it) spoke wheel with a futuristic and asymmetrical spoke design.
The i8 is expected to boast 354hp / 500Nm torque, 0-62 mph in approximately 4.6 seconds, top speed of 155mph, 78 MPG (european test cycle), up … CONTINUED

With a few late additions and drop-outs we managed to assemble a total of seven cars, 5 F20 M135is, and one each F21 M135i and E82 135i. In an unlikely coincidence that resulted in 2 Estoril Blue, 2 Glacier … CONTINUED
Before the racing starts at the American Le Mans Series Monterey run at Laguna Seca, CA Leo Parente and ShakeDown ’snuck’ into the Rahal Letterman Lanigan team garage to take a quick look at the newest GTE car in the series. Converting the GT3 BMW Z4 to GTE is in the details, primarily aero. Enjoy a snapshot look at one purposeful beast.
Dirk Müller and John Edwards, driving the No. 56 BMW Z4 GTE, scored a third place finish in today’s four-hour American Le Mans Monterey race. A second consecutive podium finish for the No. 56 machine and a win for the No. 55 car at Long Beach in only the third race of the new program keeps BMW in second place in the GT class manufacturer point standings and moves Müller to the top of the GT class driver points.
Müller started the car from the eighth starting position and by lap 27 had moved up to fourth. Just past the first hour, on lap 45, he moved to third and stayed there until handing off to Edwards on lap 57 during the races third caution period. … CONTINUED
