Indonesian BMW owners are a hardcore bunch, so it’s no surprise that the M Owners Club of Indonesia turned out for the 1M coupe launch in Jakarta, with their M cars in tow of course. See inside for some great photos from the event at Eurokars BMW.
Here’s a live look into the F12 6-series convertible production process. The new BMW 650i Convertible is built at the BMW plant in Dingolfing, Germany. Also rolling off the assembly line at the BMW Group’s largest production plant are the BMW 7 Series and BMW 5 Series models. The flexible and efficient processes at the plant combine state-of-the-art production technology with a standard of quality defined by meticulous craftsmanship in the manufacture of premium cars configured to customer requirements.
Last week brought the first real life pics of the black sapphire metallic 1M and this week features the first live video of the 1M coupe, caught driving the streets in production form.
Here’s some great news for M brand fans – BMW is currently evaluating the production of a future M sports car based on the upcoming Vision ConnectedDrive concept car (which debuts in Geneva next week). It would be in sports coupe form, lightweight, and powered by a specially massaged Six Cylinder powerplant with double-clutch transmission. Debut would be after 2015.
The turbo 4-cylinder N20 engine has impressed Autoweek in their first experience with it, in an X1 28i. They felt that it was terrifically refined, always urgent, with particularly strong low-end attributes and impressive flexibility across a wide range of revs. In addition, the N20′s power builds in a smooth, free revving fashion without any hint of turbocharger lag. Here’s a neat animation of BMW’s new Twinpower Turbo 4-cylinder Motor (aka N20). This new engine is a 2.0L gas powered 4-Cylinder engine which uses BMWs TwinPower (single turbo – twinscroll) turbo technology, good for 245HP and 350Nm of torque. This engine is closely modelled after its 6-cylinder brethern N54 and uses an all-aluminium crankcase, precision direct fuel injection, with VALVETRONIC.

AC Schnitzer has released its aero package for the M-sport F10 and F11, add-ons to supplement BMW’s factory M-sport package.
F10/F11 M-Sport Parts Include:

In a big fundamental change for the upcoming BMW i8, the future BMW halo car will be powered by a gasoline engine instead of diesel. It was previously intended to be powered by a 161-horsepower 1.5-liter 3-cylinder turbo DIESEL engine mated with a hybrid synchronous motor on the front axle (80HP) and full electric motor on the rear axle (51HP), to give a combined 292HP. The diesel motor will now be replaced by a traditional gasoline engine.

AC Schnitzer will be debuting its F10 550i ACS5 Sport S tuning program at Geneva next week. Improving on the already potent turbo powered standard 550i, Schnitzer turns up the power to achieve 397 kW / 540 hp + 750Nm torque. The ACS5 Sport 5′s 0-62mph time of 4.5 seconds would give the upcoming M5 a run for its money. Top speed runs out at 320kmh.
AC Schnitzer will also be debuting its Z4 320d at Geneva.

Among AC Schnitzer’s debuts at the Geneva auto show next week will be the AC Schnitzer Z4 99d (a 320d Z4).
The 99d packs 140 kW / 190 hp and 420 Nm of torque under its hood, dashing from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 6.9 seconds and up to a top speed of 235 km/h.
