BMW AG plans to start a car-leasing business in China in 2012 to help boost its presence in the fast-growing auto market. A leasing business and a new finance arm, announced earlier this week, may help the Munich, Germany-based automaker increase sales in China’s fast-growing luxury sector. Sales of luxury cars in the nation may grow at almost double the industry pace of 20 percent to reach 530,000 units this year and 1.1 million by 2015, according to researcher J.D Power & Associates.

The BMW Rahal Letterman Racing Team will attack the 2010 Petit Le Mans season finale in Georgia this Saturday its mantra “JOY NEVER SAYS NEVER.” A season of hard-fought ALMS GT competition has come down to one race to decide the GT Manufacturer’s title, which BMW currently trails by a single point.
After one win (Road America) and scoring at least one podium in every race thus far, the BMW Rahal Letterman Racing Team M3 GT has taken BMW (with 138 points) to within one point of Porsche (139 points) and nine in front of Ferrari (129 points) in the GT Manufacturer’s Championship battle. For these three teams, the 13th annual Petit Le Mans will be a 10-hour, winner-take-all showdown.

This M6 test mule features a cloth top and still wears the bumper from the regular 6-series, but features the signature M quad exhausts, large wheels, and huge brakes. The F12/F13 M6 will share the same engine as the upcoming F10 M5 – the turbocharged 8 cylinder motor from the X5 and X6 M (the BMW S63 engine, a 4.4L twin turbo, twin scroll, direct injection), expected to come in at the 585-600hp mark.

Saab has confirmed the previous rumors that future Saab models may be powered by BMW engines if negotiations between Saab and BMW are successful. The 2012 Saab 9-3 may be the first model to be powered by BMW, with a completely new 222hp BMW engine.
