Onyx Concept is best known for their work in the SUV market, most notably as a Range Rover tuner. But they have now expanded their portfolio to include a E92 M3 featuring their performance and cosmetic package. This includes Onyx Concept bumpers, sideskirts, and carbon fiber front spoiler, rear diffuser, spoiler lid, and hood. Buffalo hide leather and carbon fiber trim adorns the interior.

As for performance upgrades, this includes a tuning package producing 630 PS (621 hp). No details on this have yet been released, but no doubt forced induction is involved. No pricing yet, but the Onyx Concept E92 M3 will be available beginning 10/31.

BMW’s August sales saw a decrease of 1.6% from the same period last year. Year-to-date, the BMW Group sales volume is up 5.6% from last year. However, sales in the second half of the year is not expected to be as strong as the first half.

The BMW Group favoured a smooth transition when carrying out the generation change of the bestseller BMW X3. The end of production of the first generation of the Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) was celebrated at the plant of the Austrian production partner Magna Steyr in Graz yesterday. The M3 Tiger Edition official website is now online. The feature is a short film which builds a ton of suspense, but is a bit anticlimactic. Nevertheless, it’s fun seeing BMW models being built up in this way.

Concensus is that the 1M Coupe will be powered by the N54 motor, but BMW has not officially announced this yet, nor has anyone seen under its hood to confirm. But, here is good visual proof of the N54 Motor, based on the sighting of the N54′s twin center catalytic converters (N55 does not have these center cats).

Matt@Camber-Toe performs a tear down of the N55 motor, BMW’s relatively new single turbo twin scroll N55 engine that now occupies the top spot within BMW’s inline-6-cylinder lineup. An analysis of the potential upper power limits of the turbos will be performed and overall upgradability of the N55.

BMW is urging its 338 U.S. dealers to use a computerized system to do vehicle inspections when customers arrive for repair and maintenance work. The goal is to boost the number of multi-point vehicle inspections by making it easier and faster for service technicians to conduct them.

Enco Exclusive, a German tuner, has released its BMW X6 aero kit package. It’s the first dual color X6 we have seen and is matched to new front and rear bumpers with integrated LED lights and exhaust cutouts, side skirts, widened fenders and rocker panels. Wheels are black 23″ JURA aluminum wheels, with time-attack style pinstripes. An aftermarket exhaust has also been fitted. However, this is purely a cosmetic enhancement kit and no performance upgrades are included.

Sure, the Top Gear hosts are entertaining as hell, but nobody drives like Tiff Needell of the rival show Fifth Gear. Watch him flog the M3 around the Thruxton Motorsport Centre track while commenting as if it required little effort from him to handle the car at up to 140mph!
