In the second half of the business year 2008, BMW M GmbH continues to hold a stable growth course. The significant increase in sales as compared to last year have resulted in 22,340 vehicles being sold worldwide as of November 2008. This means that BMW M GmbH has exceeded the previous year’s equivalent figures (14,092 units) by over 50 per cent. A major contribution to this was the success of the new BMW M3, which has shown continuously increasing sales figures since its market launch and which is now offered in three body variations. With its attractive product range and worldwide presence, BMW M GmbH has succeeded in increasing its sales figures and market share despite the current difficulties in the market environment.

German tuner Hamann has been known to bring a very agressive styling scheme to otherwise mild mannered BMWs. This is especially true when they do their work on the BMW SAVs. This road going tank is based on the BMW X6

Here are the photos that are most important to alot of people out there. A direct comparison between the current X3 and the newly redesigned model. In case you didnt see the other threads, I was at the Essen Motor Show yesterday. It is mainly an aftermarket & tuner show, so there are some amazing cars that people have spent tons of time and money on. It was a bit disappointing that Audi was the only mainstream German auto maker there (no Merc, Porsche, or BMW), but there were several M3s throughout the exhibits. Anyway, this thread is dedicated to those. Inside youll find AC Schnitzer, Brembo, Brabham, Rieger, Akrapovic, & Inn.Vent (never heard of that one before).
This is my third apology for pic quality. I dont know how to upload them at original size (~ 10 MB), so I have to reduce them to about 800kb. The quality truly suffers. PM if you want to … CONTINUED
Ward’s Auto has released its annual list of Ten Best Engines for the new year, and our first assessment is that it’s just as interesting for what isn’t present as for what is. First of all, let’s get the official list out of the way:

The bi-xenon headlamps in the F01 7-series are just as advanced as the rest of the car and are fully adaptive to weather conditions and the road contour. AKA Adaptive Headlight Control
The new headlamp system apparently is able to take into account not only the load on the car (lurching from hard acceleration or braking) but also varies the leveling based on whether you are going up or down a hill/embankment. It adds to this your current speed and comes up with a mathematical answer to what the ideal leveling for your headlight should be at that moment. Interesting..
Speed? Well apparently, if your speeds are below 50km/h then the headlights activate City driving mode which gives enhanced peripheral lighting in order to light up those pesky pedestrians and bicyclers.
Seems like … CONTINUED
