The M3 Tiger Edition is apparently already out, as spotted in these photos from a recent Beijing BMW event. Looking like a M3 GTS in Fire Orange Metallic, but without extra aero parts, this limited edition M3 stands out even in the rainy weather. Difficult to see the tiger head emblem on the headrests, which is probably a good thing.
According to Insideline, the take rate for manual transmission on the F10 5-series is only 6 percent of all orders so far, signaling an overwhelming preference by F10 owners for the automatic transmission. BMWs Rosslyn Plant in South Africa is currently closed due to the strike by the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa, and will remain closed until the strike is over. The Rosslyn plant currently produces BMW 3-series vehicles for the local market and for export to the USA, Canada, sub-Saharan Africa, Japan, South-East Asia, Australia and New Zealand. 3-series are however produced in other BMW plants around the world, including Leipzig, Munich, Jakarta, Regensburg, Chennai, and Selangor.

Here is the first visual of the upcoming M3 Tiger Edition which is expected to be introduced to the Chinese market. As previously reported, the headrest will feature this tiger head emblem in fire orange to match the M3′s exterior color, as well as the orange stitching which will be used throughout the black leather interior.

Autobild has pitted the M3 GTS against the 911 GT3-RS, arguably one of the best handling street cars currently available. According to the test’s scoring system, the M3 GTS took second, but by a mere 5 points (out of 300 total). The GT3-RS was stronger in off the line acceleration, but the M3 proved faster for in-gear acceleration. Full results inside.
Speaking of special edition M3′s, the US version was the Frozen Gray M3. Most of these 30 limited edition M3′s have now been delivered or accounted for and many owners are M3POST members. Being as fanatical as they are, M3POST members have compiled this list showing where/whom each Frozen Gray M3 was delivered to.
There’s word that BMW has plans to release a Limited M3 Tiger Edition to the Chinese market, to commemorate the current Year of the Tiger. Appropriately, the M3 Tiger Edition will feature the M3 GTS’ fire orange metallic paint with black accented elements. Blacked out parts will include its style 359M 19″ wheels, hood air inlets, kidney grills, and black chrome exhaust tips.
The interior will feature black leather Novilla with contrasting orange stitching. The front seat headrests will be embroidered with a unique tiger head emblem. … CONTINUED
