The BMW i8 gets some even more aggressive bodywork in these renderings featuring carbon fiber aero kit and aftermarket wheels.
You just know a BMW tour is off to a really good start when an attractive toll-taker bats her eyes and says “I love your car. And you look really good in it!” It was the first of perhaps a dozen compliments I received. (Okay, all of them but one were for the car…)
The Delaware River beckoned for this trip, and I found a nice route up the New Jersey side and back down the Pennsylvania side in the March/April 2014 issue of RoadRunner … CONTINUED

Chris Harris takes a 24 hour trip to Los Angeles to drive the new BMW i8. He hated the flight, but the i8 left a positive impression on the team. Capable of 23 miles all electric before the 3-cylinder turbocharged motor kicks in to recharge the batteries. This is one of the closest production cars we’ve ever seen that looks almost identical to the concept car it’s based on.
We’ve recently learned from multiple inside sources (who have been accurate in the past) that the BMW M2 is a go!
The M2 start of production is currently scheduled for late Fall 2015, which places the first deliveries at the very end of 2015 or early 2016.
Confirming what we reported earlier, we’ve been told that the M2 will be powered by the N55 turbo inline 6 engine (N55B30T0), producing around 370-380 PS (365-375 HP).
BMW M reportedly also considered a “S48″ engine for the M2, presumably … CONTINUED

Great review of a BMW 1M Coupe against a 997 GT3 RS 3.8 and GT3 RS 4.0.
Asymmetric warfare: A couple months back I had the privilege of testing three incredible machines: a 997 GT3 RS 3.8, an RS 4.0, and an RS 3.8 with the engine bored and stroked to 4.1 liters. My 1M came along for the ride as the camera car for a few days of amazing driving. While it’s unquestionably unfair to compare BMW’s cheapest M car to an RS 4.0, … CONTINUED

Can the BMW i8 drift? Seems we’ll be seeing that answered soon by a Chris Harris review on Road & Track, but for now here are some real life performance figures from their instrumented test of the i8.
The i8 was able to cover 0-60mph in 3.8 seconds, quarter mile in 12.3 seconds @ 114.4 MPH.
It hit 0.91g on the skidpad and braked from 60-0 in 119 feet.

This was a training program I took last November in Shanghai F1 International Circuit. BMW brought a fleet of BMW Formula cars and team from Germany to throw a week’s training for customers, mostly die-hard bimmer owners.
The BMW formula car, FB02, features a monocoque chassis, a 140-hp BMW motorcycle engine and a 6-speed sequential gear box. Power to weight ratio is 1hp:3.5kg (M3′s is 1:4). 0-100kmh 3.5 seconds. Maximum speed 230kmh. It weighs just 440 kgs. With slick tyres, it corners … CONTINUED
For the past two years some Euro 1Addicts have gone on a pilgrimage to Stelvio. Stelvio 1.0 and Stelvio 2.0 (you can click on my signature for those photo threads)
Some in our group have become a little bored with Stelvio plan so this year we want to tour another breath taking mountain range. But where? So Artemis(Luc) and I had last weekend free so we made a little “research” tour of the Italian Dolomites Alps region. This is the area of mountains bellow the … CONTINUED
