Hamann announced that they now have a body kit to go with their tuning programme for the 2009 BMW 7 Series. Details are being kept under wraps for the moment except to say those tyres are running on 22-inch rims. Visually, components like a rear boot spoiler, a rear roof spoiler, four tailpipes and new side skirts can be spotted. The interior shows sporty pedals, and black leather seats and carpets stitched with the Hamann logo.

The previous-generation Hamann 7 (HM 7.1) was announced in 2005 and was based on the 760i/L. Hamman increased the factory V12 engine capacity from 6.0-litres to 7.1-litres and managed to release 510hp (375kW) and 728Nm of torque. The 0 – 100km/h time improved to 5 seconds while top speed went up … CONTINUED

Heinz Krusche is BMW’s chassis guru. I’ve met him several times, and always enjoyed top insight from him (not least his tales of how he keeps DSC turned on for the road – but ‘always’ turns it off when on track…).

The heralded BMW 135i Coupe is set to take on the muscle of Albert Park at this year’s 2009 Australian Grand Prix.

A specially equipped 135i Coupe, bearing the famed tii livery and featuring BMW Performance gear, will take part in the Ultimate Speed Comparison.

A race between a V8 Supercar, fully prepared BMW Sauber Formula 1 car and road going BMW 135i Coupe, the Ultimate Speed Comparison is a crowd favourite which pits three high performance forms of motoring against each other in a one lap race to the finish line.

A BMW spokesman talking with iMotorMag states that there is no business case for making an M Roadster/M Coupe based on the Z4 due to the poor economic climate.

However, the good news is that they do reveal that BMW is planning an M Sport package which will include a body kit, large alloy wheels, tuned suspension and an M-branded steering wheel. In the cards is talk of an ECU remap upgrade to boost engine output of the 3.0-litre twin-turbo by an extra 20hp taking the total to 326hp.

BMW made similarly strong statements with the E85 Z4 as well but finally caved in after a few years of enthusiast demands — so im not ruling it out … CONTINUED

first off congrats to my buddy Dirk Werner for grabbing GT2 pole…..

we will see how the M does…. This is always a good start for a new car because whatever will break on the car… WILL break.. so it shows its flaws sooner… obviously you wont finish well in the race tho….

Scott gives us a glimpse into the future of BMW with the upcoming Z2 design study which is said to be turned into a real production car. We are clinging our hopes on this car!
