They will also share the same powerplant and drivetrain.

The new BMW ALPINA D3 Bi-Turbo sets entirely new standards of performance and efficiency in its segment – all in the familiar, harmonious ALPINA style.
The numbers 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 summarise the key data of the new D3 Bi-Turbo like pearls on a chain: Vmax 278 km/h, 350 bhp, 4.6 s from 0-100 km/h, 5.3 l/100 km (139 g/km CO2), EU6, 700 Nm.
The first D3 to come out of Buchloe appeared in 2005 as a turbocharged, 2-litre in-line four cylinder model, and delivered a number of surprises – it was not the first diesel to wear the ALPINA badge, but it was unusual for ALPINA not to lead the performance table and instead go with an engine that albeit extremely economical had … CONTINUED
You’ve seen Alpine White and Mineral Gray 4 Series M Sport models from our BMW NA 4 Series media launch galleries, now have a look at the 4 Series M Sport in Melbourne Red.
How do you think it compares to the other colors we’ve shown so far?
We are live from the Frankfurt IAA 2013 auto show where BMW has officially debuted the production BMW i8 hybrid electric car.
We’ve already shown you the i8 in silver and black, but BMW debuted the i8 at the Frankfurt show in an even wilder color – Protonic Blue Metallic with frozen grey accents.
David (Dackelone) was on hand to witness the reveal and gives us this first look at the i8 in Protonic Blue.
The BMW UK website has an online preview configurator for the BMW i8 sports car, which previews some exterior and interior colors.
While three wheel styles are available for preview, we cannot wait to see the optional carbon fiber wheels (per press release).
You can preview your own i8 build at bmw.co.uk. Share your build with us in this thread.
