Carsales claims BMW M sources have hinted at a lightweight track focused M4 coming in 2016 as part of the celebrations for BMW’s 100th birthday.

The BMW Group in the U.S. (BMW and MINI combined) reported September sales of 28,874 vehicles, an increase of 8.3 percent from the 26,660 vehicles sold in the same month a year ago. A BMW i3 was fully charged in under 30-minutes today at the first-ever public charging station in the US to offer the SAE Combo-Charging fast charging system. We’ve shown you many looks at the exterior of the X4 prototypes, but no views of the X4 interior (not even on the concept X4), until now.
The X4′s interior design is predictably similar to the X3, with which it shares a platform (see comparison photo). The new iDrive touch control knob can be seen. As with the X3, the X4 will be produced in Spartanburg. Expect the X4 to hit the market in the second half of 2014 – early 2015.
AC Schnitzer has released initial info on its tuning program for the 4 Series Coupe.
Starting with the engine, the AC Schnitzer tune for the 435i bumps its power up to 360 HP (265 kW), the 428i up to 294 HP (216 kW) and the 420d up to 218 HP (160 kW). To add to the visceral experience, a sports exhaust system is available.
