EVO has posted a great video review of a preproduction F10 M5 by Chris Harris, filmed in the Swedish winter. If you’ll recall, EVO previously posted a bit of a teaser clip and article in which it was confirmed that the new M5 will have at least 555hp (that’s the output of the X5 M and X6 M) and that “there’s a seven-speed DCT dual clutch transmission with three different shift speeds and a fully automatic mode.

The 1M continues to impress auto publications worldwide, this time at the hands of Autocar, who say that the 1M coupe is not a junior M3, as many suggested it would be, but has its own distinct character and, in real-world terms, is a good deal faster than its more expensive sibling.
Caradvice.com.au had a chance to review the 2012 650i convertible and came away very impressed, especially with its new styling, engine, automatic transmission, quality, handling/ride balance, and markedly improved electric steering. Here are some of the more notable quotes from their review.
The most renowned German sports car magazine Sport Auto has published their review. The biggest news first, the 1M did a 1:14.1 in Hockenheim. To add some perspective, the fastest time Sport Auto got for the M3 was 1:14.2 in an E92 M3 ZCP DCT.
Sport Auto clocked 4.7 seconds for 0-62mph and 17.2 seconds for 0-124mph. But it’s not only the measurable performance that impressed the reviewers, it’s also the fun. Purely a subjective matter, but the 1M got 10 out of 10 points for … CONTINUED
Another 1M review is in from Germany. AMS got their hands on a 1-series M Coupé, and we’ve translated the essential details from their review. In short, AMS considers the 1M one of the best sports cars available but found some drawbacks in daily use and under less than ideal conditions. They clocked an amazing 4.7 seconds for 0-62mph which is on par with the E9x M3 they’ve tested previously. Equally impressive, 0-124mph only took 16.6 seconds while returing an average of 18.2 mpg. AMS gave … CONTINUED
Autobild has just published a comparison test between the 1M and the Porsche Cayman R. We’re happy to share that the 1M won this comparison (besting the Cayman R by 1 point). The 1M coupe performs only slightly worse than the Cayman R, yet it offers better overall comfort and low-end power. All this for roughly EUR 25k less! More inside…
The reviews for the 1M have been pouring in recently, with one review after another shining very positive light on the little M car, especially when compared to various rivals.
Now AutoExpress magazine has come in with their own review. Right off the bat, the car they got to test was a Black Sapphire Metallic version, which is something welcome to the 1M fans who desperatly want to see more IRL photos of the car in black.
Going a step beyond just the looks of the car, the … CONTINUED

BMW’s new 6-series convertible (F12) just hit the streets which means review comparison time. In their latest issue AMS pits the BMW 650i Convertible against two of its natural enemies – the Jaguar JK Convertible and the Maserati Gran Coupe. We’re happy to share that the F12 650i was able to finish this comparison on 1st place with 498 Points in total. Per AMS, “anything but a victory would have been a suprise. The new 6er Cabrio wins almost every category and shines both in … CONTINUED
The guys at driving-fun.com recently had the opportunity to drive a Swedish owner’s new 1M coupe (who seems to be making the rounds at the major European tracks with his new 1M — first the Spa-Francorchamps and the Nurburgring) at the Dutch Zandvoort track. Here were their impressions of the 1M on the circuit.
Fifth Gear’s Vicki Henderson takes the 535d M-sport against the Jaguar XF Diesel S onto the track for a hotlap showdown at the Assen circuit. Both cars are powered by 6 cylinder turbo diesel engines.
The 535d motor is good for 300hp and 440 pound-feet of torque, which covers 0-62mph in 5.7 seconds while achieving 46.3mpg. The Jaguar XF Diesel S has 275hp under the hood with its 3.0L AJV6D Generation III diesel turbo with 0-60 in 5.9 seconds and an MPG of 42mpg. Winner? Results … CONTINUED
