Spied in its usual black armor is the new 5-series. Here you can atleast tell the general dimensions, shape and roofline of the car. According to CARmagazine insiders this car will NOT be as radical as the current 5-series was and will be a more flowing car. It is true that over the years, the current 7-series went from ugly duckingling to pioneer, with many industry leaders eventually copying the infamous bangle-butt. But flattery aside, it is evident that BMW will not repeat that design language and is moving into a more flowing type of design.

Currently sitting atop BMWs X5 range is the 4.8is but if these latest spy shots are anything to go by there may be a new top dog in the X5 lineup and this one could get an M badge. A performance SUV doesnt really fit in with the M philosophy of increased performance through reduced weight but the allure of the two-ton sports market could be too strong even for BMW and its famed M division to resist.
