Andy Priaulx and Dr. Segler pushed the ball forward another step this past Sunday December 5, with an additional piece of the BMW 1 Series M Coupé unveiled to the public at the Autosport Awards in The Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London UK.
A 1addicts member reports that the official release/reveal date of the hotly anticipated production 1 Series M Coupe will be December 12, 2010! This date was later corroborated by BMW insider Scott. Be sure to tune 12/12/10 for the reveal.
The next partial reveal of the 1M coupe is imminent and its full unveil is next month, but it continues being evaluated. Just spotted in Munich is this black 1M coupe prototype showing covered M3 mirrors and new LCI headlights/tail lights. The wheels (Style 270M M3 winter wheels) have likely been fitted for some better cold weather traction. These photos also highlight the aggressively flared fenders of the 1 series M coupe.
Contrary to earlier reports of a 2,700 unit limit on the 1-series M Coupe, based on new info from insider Scott26, it now appears that BMW will build as many 1M coupes as demand dictates during its production run, which will end in the first quarter of 2012. Yesterday’s engine specs image shows a 3/11 date after the 1M coupe engine, which we believe may indicate the start of production as March 2011. If this is the case, the entire 1M coupe production run will span … CONTINUED
The 1M Coupe will be shown in the BMW Welt in Munich this weekend (Saturday Nov. 20 and Sunday Nov. 21). The car will sport the same level of disguise as in the pictures from Paris. Also be sure to tune into Bimmerpost this weekend as member test drives of the 1M coupe will be released this weekend!
Only 1/4 of the 1M Coupe was actually revealed at Oktoberfest, but Bimmerpost members are masters of details and imagination. The very observant member Shinobi has spotted what looks to be the edge of a front fender vent peeking out from under the cover.
Our friends at Bimmerfile have posted these photos of the 1-series M Coupe from earlier in the day at Oktoberfest. Under the sunlight it’s much easier to see the true hue of the Valencia Orange color. Not much more of the car is revealed in these photos, but we do get to see the same car from different angles.
The BMW 1M Coupe has now been unveiled (partially) via this video!! The video was just posted on M-power.com and shows the highly anticipated 1M Coupe’s stunning front 3/4 view! Stay tuned tonight for more info/coverage from BMW CCA Oktoberfest.
The head of BMW M Division, Dr. Kay Segler, will be making a presentation at 7pm CST from BMW CCA Oktoberfest and all signs are pointing to some type of 1M Coupe teaser (or dare we dream, a reveal) at the presentation. Stay tuned in a few hours!
This photo posted by insider Scott26 shows a camera rig being used to shoot the 1M Coupe for a promo spot or commercial. The use of a motorcycle for a camera rig is interesting and we predict that it will result in some very exciting angles and perspectives of the 1M in the resulting video.
BMW CCA is dropping some seriously strong hints that the 1M Coupe may be “sneak peek” introduced at this year’s BMW CCA Oktoberfest at Road America in WI. Using words such as “fast, light, nimble car” to refer to the yet unknown car, and drawing references to other M-cars, as well as saying that the head of BMW M GmbH will be in attendance, these could not be stronger hints to a 1M Coupe intro!
BMW’s M-power site has posted this in-car track video of the 1 Series M Coupe prototype on the Ascari Race Track from last month. This is perhaps the best sound bite yet of the 1M Coupe that we have seen/heard.
