The AC Schnitzer 1M Coupe has debuted at the Frankfurt IAA. The ACS 1M tuning program includes aerodynamic, performance, and handling ugprades. The 1M’s power has been bumped up to 400hp (from 340hp) with an ECU software tune.
Cosmetic upgrades include a carbon fiber front lip spoiler, metal lower grille, vented hood, extra side fender gill, rear roof spoiler, carbon fiber rear trunk spoiler lip, and carbon fiber rear bumper diffuser.
The factory 1M exhaust has been replaced by a Schnitzer exhaust system with twin silencers. Factory suspension is replaced by a adjustable racing suspension and the brakes have been upgraded as well – 380x35mm brake discs with 6 piston calipers in front, and 355x32mm discs with 4 piston calipers in rear. M3 Adjuster, one of the first 12 civilians to test drive the BMW 1M coupe, as part of the M-power.com contest late last year, has become the first of the 12 to pick up his 1M coupe. His epic european delivery journal can be seen inside. If you like ED photos, you will NOT be disappointed!
This past weekend saw the first US 1M coupe meet take place when a few Bay Area 1ADDICTS and M3POST members met up for a drive. Three 1Ms and two M3s were in attendance, making for an intimate group. They cruised while M3post member RadiantM3 snapped photos. We can expect to soon see larger and larger 1M meets as more US customers finally take delivery.
Eisenmann’s long-anticipated BMW 1M exhaust system has now been released and 1ADDICTS member biglare’s 1M is the first lucky 1M to make use of the Eisenmann Race downpipe back system. Shortly after landing in IND’s warehouse, the 1M exhaust prototype box made it’s way to San Diego, the exhaust system made it’s way out of the box and finally Eisenmann’s 83mm tips made their way under biglare’s 1M’s beautiful rear valence. The BMW 1M coupe will be a one model year run in most if not all markets, which means limited units will be around for all time. Good copies will get more and more rare as the natural elements take their toll, especially on those 1Ms parked outside. We’re really hoping that this a joke by some bored 1M coupe owner because we can’t make sense of much of this build. The ironic thing? The Singapore plates on the car costs at least $100,000 USD! As they say, money cannot buy taste.
