Now that the US F30 3 series online configurator has come online, perhaps you could use a visual guide to the possible combinations with each of the different F30 lines (sport, modern, luxury).

Here is a combinations graphical chart to the three different F30 lines (for the US market), as well as our full guide.

Seen here, at the Brussels auto show is the first sight of the F30 3 series M Sport looking great with the optional Style 403M 19″ wheels and the blue M sport brakes that we’ve been mentioning. As we just posted about, it hasn’t yet been decided whether the blue M Sport brakes will be a part of the M Sport Package or optional.

Also being displayed with this F30 M Sport model are some BMW Performance and M Performance – an M Performance alcantara dashboard cover with carbon fiber fabric trim, a performance flat bottom alcantara steering wheel with red center marker, and performance racing pedals. Some F30 exterior BMW M Performance and Performance parts were spotted for the first time just yesterday. See inside … CONTINUED

Here’s some great news for the 3 series touring fans in the US – the US market will receive the F31 3 series touring! BMW’s decision to bring the 5 Series GT to the US and nip the F11 5 series touring in return had us all a bit worried whether the 3 series touring to be unveiled later this year would share a similar fate.

Fortunately, Paul Ferraiolo, Manager, Product Planning & Strategy of BMWNA, confirmed with us during 2012 Detroit NAIAS that the next generation F31 3 series touring will make it stateside again:

“It’s coming, we’re not gettting rid of it, we love it”, Ferraiolo said when we asked about the next generation 3 series touring. More from Ferraiolo: “The touring buyers – in … CONTINUED

From a dealer presentation event for BMW Performance Parts come the first views of the BMW Performance parts for the F30 3 series. Both the M Sport and non-M Sport accessories are seen here.

Parts we can see include carbon fiber splitters, carbon fiber front lip, gloss kidney grilles, 19″ wheels, performance racing stripes, and painted rear bumper diffuser.

On the standard F30, you can see the BMW Performance sideskirts and gloss black wheels with red pinstripes.

Expect a whole host of the standard types of BMW Performance parts – brakes, mirror covers, software tune, suspension, etc. once the F30 BMW Performance parts catalog is officially announced.

Here’s another highlight of the 2012 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), the Active Hybrid 3.

Seen here in Modern Line configuration, the Active Hybrid 3 combines BMW’s smooth 3.0l N55 inline 6 and an electric motor for a maximun output of 335hp and 450Nm. It does 0-62kph in less than 5.9 seconds and returns 37 miles to the gallon. To further improve mpg there’s also an intelligent navigation system to optimize your routes for a hybrid. Unlike other hybrids the Actibe Hybrid 3 doesn’t compromise boot capacity too much (390 liters).

There’s no word on pricing yet, but if the just-announced pricing for the Active Hybrid 5 is any hint we’d expect it to be in the ballpark of $ 50,000. The Active Hybrid 3 will … CONTINUED

Our live coverage from the 2012 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) continues. From the NAIAS show floor, here are the first photos of the US M Sport 335i (F30) in Estoril Blue II debuting in North America.

Compared to our earlier coverage on the European spec M Sport package, you can see several differences for the US: For one there are the obvious orange reflectors which are integrated subtly. The US version also has no fog lights which makes for a sportier appearance (the reason for the fog light delete is to enhance cooling). European models will retain the fog lights.

On to the interior, there’s the lovely M Sport steering wheel and the exclusive trim with blue accent strips (no worries, trims without blue accents are … CONTINUED

We’re here live at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS) where the star of the BMW display this year, the 2012 BMW 3 Series Sedan (F30), has just made its North American debut.

On display so far is a base model (no lines) F30 328i in arctic silver, a 335i luxury line, and a 328i sport line. We’re told that the M Sport will be hitting the floor a bit later so we’ll try to snag some photos when it makes its appearance.

The F30′s official launch to market comes in just over a month – on February 11th. While the full F30 online configurator with pricing hasn’t yet launched, we’re told that it should be up by next week.

For now, we have plenty of resources for you … CONTINUED
