Info on the next generation M3 lineup comes courtesy of insider SCOTT26. Expected in the M3 lineup will again be the M3 coupe and cabrio, but the M3 sedan will supposedly be replaced by the M3 Gran coupe (a 4 door version of the F32 M3 coupe). Also for the first time there will be an M3 touring wagon. Finally, the X3M and an X4M (based on a future X4 SAV model) are speculated. Full details inside.
The next generation M3 is still at least 3 years from its debut, but it’s never too early for speculation, particularly about its powerplant. While the current E9x M3 is powered by the marvelous high-revving V8 engine (S65), it’s been widely speculated that that the next generation M3 will return to using a 6-cylinder engine. The 2012 F30 3-series sedan has finally dropped its heavy camouflage to reveal a handsome and evolutionary design from the current E90 3-series sedan!
