Here’s what we’ve all been waiting for! This being the first F80 at EAS’s facility, forum member tightie decided to inspect this Yas Marina Blue M3 on a lift, weigh it on the scales and strap it to the dyno.
On the scales, this F80 M3 weighed in at 3590 lbs (pounds) with a nearly 50/50 weight distribution. The dyno numbers are what really impressed us, though. BMW claims this motor makes 425hp … CONTINUED

In the today print issue of AMS (Auto Motor Sport) is an track driving review of the MotoGP M4 on Losail Circuit in Qatar. They also claimed the S55 as not so sharply throttle responsive as the old S65, but because of the overall performance this doesn´t matter much, there is enough power out of the engine and with the Akrapovic Performance Exhaust it sounds like an/the V8.

As said by head of BMW M Product Management, Carsten Pries:
BMW M’s product planning chief says the next-generation M3 model family could be powered by a four-cylinder engine, despite the fact the Bavarian performance brand is currently without any four-cylinder models.
Speaking at the international launch of the all-new F80/82 M3 and M4 in Portugal over the weekend, BMW M Division Head of Product Management Carsten Pries told motoring.com.au it was “foreseeable” that a four-cylinder engine could power the next generation of the iconic model.
