Yesterday, we brought you news of the availability of the F30 335i M Performance Power Kit (PPK) [full details].

The PPK increases the 335i’s horsepower from 300 to 320hp (official factory quoted figures) on all models. Automatic transmission models will experience a +32 lb-ft peak torque increase (to 332 lb-ft), while manual transmission-equipped models benefit from a +17 lb-ft peak torque increase (to 317 lb-ft). 0-60mph acceleration is improved 0.2 seconds compared to standard 335i models, while 50-75mph times drop by a full half-second.

Well, these figures are conservative, as they often are from BMW. The following video shows the E90 335i PPK (also factory quoted at 320hp 332 lb-ft) producing 336 bhp / 377 lb-ft torque on the dyno (performed by Dinan and at a 15% … CONTINUED

BMW has announced some of the important models set for debut at the 2013 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS), which has its press days beginning on March 27.

With this comes the official announcement that a diesel powered BMW 328d will join the 3 Series lineup in the U.S. [already confirmed for Canada]. A prototype was spotted last September in the US.

The 328d will be powered by a TwinPower Turbo 4 cylinder engine, outputting 180 hp / 280 lb-ft of torque and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 7.2 seconds, while getting mileage that could well exceed 40 mpg (official US EPA estimates will be available closer to the launch of the 328d).

Also joining the 328d in making their (North American) debuts will … CONTINUED

Testing and development of the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe (F36) continues, with the prototypes undergoing cold weather testing in Sweden.

As always, don’t worry about the headlights and tail lights of the prototypes at this stage of testing. They are merely fakes for testing purposes. Expect the 4GC to share the lights with the rest of the upcoming 4 Series lineup.

Codenamed as the F36, the 4 Series Gran Coupe will be positioned and priced in the 3/4 Series lineup just as the 6 Series Gran Coupe is positioned in the 5/6 Series lineup (in between the coupe and convertible models). [See our recent article previewing the future 4 Series / M4 lineup].

Like the 6 Series Gran Coupe, the 4 Series Gran Coupe combines the convenience … CONTINUED
