Have a look at a visual comparison between the just fully revealed 3 Series GT against the 5 Series GT.
Here are the first fully revealed 2013 BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo (GT) cars! These two 3 Series GT models, in two different trims, were just spied during a BMW video shoot.
The 3 Series GT shares a similar front fascia look to the F30 3 series sedan, and a tail end which, although still a bit ungainly, is somewhat sportier than that on the 5 Series GT. Although the 3 Series GT (F34) shares a similar front end to the 3 Series sedan, design which … CONTINUED
BMW maintains that the sometimes maligned 5-Series GT is a good seller despite the public perception, so much so that a scaled down 3-Series iteration has been under development for some time. Now it seems the development of this car is nearing the point of public release and so BMW has dropped the typical body cladding and now only covers the car up in a minimal amount of camouflage tape.
While the general shape of this car has been known to follow the 5-Series GT lines, what … CONTINUED
The F34 3 Series GT (Gran Turismo) is just months from its debut and the first F34 chassis has now been spotted.
The 3 Series GT will feature a similar engine lineup to the F30 3 Series and we expect its public debut to possibly come at the 2013 NAIAS in January (if it will be sold in the US) or 2013 Geneva show in March.

So sorry folks, we don’t mean to cry wolf, but upon closer inspection we believe that this prototype is actually the 3 Series GT.
With some of its rear camouflage removed, it revealed a sleeker hind roofline and rear, which gave it the appearance of a fastback/coupe-sedan, which we mistook for the 4 Series Gran Coupe. We apologize for the mistake.
The silver lining is that the 3 Series GT is looking sleeker/sportier than ever.
We bring you the first video of the F34 3 Series Gran Turismo (GT) in action. 335i prototypes were spotted on and around the Nurburgring as it recently began its performance testing at the Ring.
The 3 Series GT is being tested concurrently with the other future F3x variants – the F32 coupe and F33 convertible.
The overall apperance of the 3 series GT will follow the 5 Series GT in having some independent styling from the other 3 series variants. Unlike the 5 Series GT however, it … CONTINUED

Development continues on the upcoming F34 3 Series GT (Gran Turismo) model, which BMW is testing concurrently with the other future F3x variants – the F32 coupe, F31 touring.
We’ve now spied the GT model with its trunk/tailgate open, revealing its exact trunk line. These photos also confirm what we’ve said earlier – that the 3 series GT will feature a simple hatch function rather than the twin trunk arrangement on the 5er GT.
We also get some more looks at the F34′s retractable spoiler, the first on … CONTINUED
Perhaps the 3 Series GT (F34) has sportier intentions than most would expect. If the retractable spoiler spotted on this F34 prototype for the first time is any indication, BMW expects the 3 Series GT to be driven with plenty of gusto and not relegated to only people and cargo hauling.
As seen clearly in the photos below, the spoiler is retractable and not fixed. When the spoiler is deployed, we can see the trunk cutout for it to slot into when retracted. Like other … CONTINUED
Now that the F30 3 series sedan has been released, testing continues on all the other F3x variants – the F32 coupe, F31 touring, and this F34 Gran Turismo (GT) model.
These photos provide the best look yet at the trunk, tailgate, and rear portions of the roofline. The 3 Series GT prototypes previously wore heavy camouflage paneling concealing the true shape and styling of the trunk. The loss of the rear deck camo has shortened and tightened the car’s size and proportions.
With its sleeker trunkline and … CONTINUED
With the arrival of spring in Germany, has come a torrid pace of BMW prototype testing. The F34 3-series GT (Gran Turismo) is once again out doing its testing runs in public. The camouflage remains the same as before, but additional angles gives us a better idea yet of its size, proportions, stance, and shape. Check out the newest set of spy photos inside.
Here are some of the clearest shots yet of the F34 3-series GT in testing, from some different perspectives than we’ve previously posted. We must say, the F34 GT looks much better in motion than at standstill.
