Consumer Reports has issued its latest Best & Worst Used Cars report (for April 2013) and the 2009 BMW E90 328i sedan has been named the best sedan in the $20,000-$25,000 category. It shares the top pick with the 2009 Infiniti G and the 2010 Toyota Avalon.

Here is some footage of Alpina’s B3 GT3 limited edition (of 99), which is based on the Alpina B3 S Bi-Turbo, but with 8 more HP. Re-designing sections of the exhaust system and installing a new enhanced Akrapovic rear silencer increased output in the B3 GT3 by this 8 HP. The 2012 3-series sedan product planning and strategy bulletin and ordering guide has been released (scans below).

Retails sales will launch on February 11, 2012. The first two months of production will be used to produce dealer’s initial stock – two 328i and one 335i. Here’s a breakdown of the ordering info available so far:

As we’ve been alluding to, the 2012 F30 3 series will be revealed mid-next month (Friday, October 14 to be exact) via online reveal, and live at a BMW press event. Autobild has posted the engine range that will be available for the F30 at launch, as follows:

Gasoline:
316i – 134hp
320i – 181hp
328i – 242hp (2.0L inline 4 cylinder twinpower turbo N20 motor) (US bound)
335i – 302hp (3.0L inline 6 cylinder twin turbo) (US bound)

We last spied the F30 hybrid back in February for the first time out in heavy camouflage. It has now shed its heavy camouflage and taken to the Nurburgring for track testing. One can tell this is a hybrid version by the typical “Rescue” stickers on its doors and rear bumper (which is always present BMW’s hybrid test vehicles).

Rumors of BMW considering V6 engines have been floating around for quite some while now. One possible future application often mentioned when talking about such an engine is the upcoming F80 M3 (F82 M4).
