Here are the first fully revealed 2013 BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo (GT) cars! These two 3 Series GT models, in two different trims, were just spied during a BMW video shoot.
The 3 Series GT shares a similar front fascia look to the F30 3 series sedan, and a tail end which, although still a bit ungainly, is somewhat sportier than that on the 5 Series GT. Although the 3 Series GT (F34) shares a similar front end to the 3 Series sedan, design which it shares with the upcoming 4 Series Coupe is the front fender vent, which was recently spied on a production 4 Series Coupe (F32) model. The F34 3 Series GT (Gran Turismo) is just months from its debut and the first F34 chassis has now been spotted.
The 3 Series GT will feature a similar engine lineup to the F30 3 Series and we expect its public debut to possibly come at the 2013 NAIAS in January (if it will be sold in the US) or 2013 Geneva show in March.

We bring you the first video of the F34 3 Series Gran Turismo (GT) in action. 335i prototypes were spotted on and around the Nurburgring as it recently began its performance testing at the Ring.
The 3 Series GT is being tested concurrently with the other future F3x variants – the F32 coupe and F33 convertible.
The overall apperance of the 3 series GT will follow the 5 Series GT in having some independent styling from the other 3 series variants. Unlike the 5 Series GT however, it will feature a simple hatch design/function rather than the twin trunk arrangement. It should also have sportier styling and driving intentions than the 5 Series GT, which its retractable spoiler seems to be a sign of.

We spotted the upcoming 3 series GT (Gran Turismo) out on the highway recently. As you can see, it had its retractable spoiler extended while at speed.
Expect the 3 Series Gran Turismo F34 to debut sometime in 2013 and in both gasoline and diesel models.

We’ve now spied the GT model with its trunk/tailgate open, revealing its exact trunk line. These photos also confirm what we’ve said earlier – that the 3 series GT will feature a simple hatch function rather than the twin trunk arrangement on the 5er GT.
We also get some more looks at the F34′s retractable spoiler, the first on a production BMW. As seen in the older photos we’ve reposted below, when the spoiler is deployed, we can see the trunk cutout for it to slot into when retracted, for a flat subtle look. Perhaps the 3 Series GT (F34) has sportier intentions than most would expect. If the retractable spoiler spotted on this F34 prototype for the first time is any indication, BMW expects the 3 Series GT to be driven with plenty of gusto and not relegated to only people and cargo hauling.
As seen clearly in the photos below, the spoiler is retractable and not fixed. When the spoiler is deployed, we can see the trunk cutout for it to slot into when retracted. Like other cars with retractable spoilers (i.e. Mini coupe/roadster, Porsches), expect the GT’s spoiler to deploy at higher speeds to increase downforce. Besides its functional purpose, the spoiler certainly also adds some sportiness to the aesthetics of the GT’s rear.

Now that the F30 3 series sedan has been released, testing continues on all the other F3x variants – the F32 coupe, F31 touring, and this F34 Gran Turismo (GT) model.
These photos provide the best look yet at the trunk, tailgate, and rear portions of the roofline. The 3 Series GT prototypes previously wore heavy camouflage paneling concealing the true shape and styling of the trunk. The loss of the rear deck camo has shortened and tightened the car’s size and proportions.
With its sleeker trunkline and frameless windows, the 3-series GT looks to be sleeker in shape than the 5-series GT and appears generally sportier in nature. The 3-series GT will offer a simple hatch function rather than the twin trunk arrangement on the 5er GT.
