BMW invited us to test the all-new 6 Series Gran Coupe (internally dubbed F06) [full info thread] which is set to complement the already available Coupe (F13) and Cabrio (F12) versions. Here’s our review after two days and roughly 160 miles.
Let’s begin with some facts and figures. At 197.1 inches, the Gran Coupe is about four inches longer than the F13 Coupe, and only 2.7 inches shorter than the F01 7 Series. To allow the additional doors and rear space, the wheelbase of the Gran Coupe has been increased by 4.5 inches over the Coupe, making for 116.9 inches in total. We’re here in gorgeous Sicily, Italy for the BMW press drives for the 2013 BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe. There’s a fleet of 6 Series Gran Coupes here for evaluation and on display at the hotel is a Space Grey / Cohiba Brown Individual 650i and Citrin Black Individual 640i M Sport, which we’ve posted photos of below.

The general sentiment so far has unsurprisingly been that the 6 Series Gran Coupe is a sportier looking and driving alternative to the 5 Series sedan. Check out some of the car’s initial reviews/impressions inside.
BMW has just released a torrent of new photos, videos, info, and full pricing details on the 2013 BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe. The 2013 6 Series Gran Coupe will be offered as three distinct models in the US. The TwinPower Turbo 6-cylinder BMW 640i Gran Coupe is the initial model and arrives in late June with an MSRP of $76,895. Later in the summer, the TwinPower Turbo V-8 BMW 650i Gran Coupe and the all-wheel drive BMW 650i xDrive Gran Coupe will join the range. These models will be priced at $87,395 and $90,395 respectively (all prices include $895 Handling and Destination).
The 6 Series Gran Coupe M Sport package is also introduced for the first time. Package details are below.

The M6 Gran Coupe opened the Nurburgring testing season in March and we’ve now caught it on video, giving you a good idea how just how well it tackles the track. That such a large car can perform like this on a challenging track is an impressive sight.
As the M6 Gran Coupe will utilize the same S63Tu engine as the F10 M5 (although the M6 Gran Coupe may be introduced with a slightly uprated power figure from the M5’s 560hp), it’s seen testing with and benchmarked against several M5s in the video, including the M5 Ring Taxis.

The 2013 6 series Gran Coupe has already made its rounds on the auto show circuit, but has never been presented officially in M Sport form yet. Seen here at the BMW Performance Center in South Carolina is the first good look at a fully equipped 6 Series Gran Coupe M Sport. This frozen bronze 650i Gran Coupe wears the same aggressive, sideskirts and rear diffuser as the M Sport 6 series coupe/convertible M Sport. It rides on the 20″ M Sport wheels.
To our eyes, the 6 Series Gran Coupe looks particular good with the M Sport aero parts as it balances out the ends of the rather lengthy body and gives it an added bit of sportiness to the 6GC’s sleek dimensions.

The 2013 M6 coupe and 2012 M6 convertible have now made their world premieres and North American premieres, which brings us to the M6 Gran Coupe as the next M6 variant in the pipeline.
We’ve already seen plenty of the spy photos/videos of the M6 Gran Coupe, which together with the already revealed production 6-series Gran Coupe (photos 1, photos 2), gives us a very accurate idea of what the M6 Gran Coupe will look like. On the occasion of the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS), BMW today announced U.S. pricing for the 2013 BMW 640i Gran Coupe, the 2013 650i Gran Coupe, and the 2013 650i xDrive Gran Coupe.
Including destination and handling, the all-new BMW 640i Gran Coupe will carry a MSRP of $76,895. The BMW 650i Gran Coupe and the 650i xDrive Gran Coupe will be priced at $87,395 and $90,395 respectively.
The 2013 640i Gran Coupe will go on sale in late June with the 650i Gran Coupe and the 650i xDrive Gran Coupe to follow in September.

The 2013 6 series Gran Coupe has already seen its world premieres at the Geneva Motor Show and Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance in the US, but we now get a look at an uncovered production spec 6 Series Gran Coupe in M Sport form, which we’ve only seen in partially covered prototype form until now. The M Sport package features the same aggressive bumpers, rear diffuser and sideskirts as the 6 series coupe and convertible.
