The BMW 1M coupe remains as desirable as ever, and perhaps even more so, as its current market value is even higher than the retail price when sold.
Of twenty 1M coupes currently on sale, by way of major used auto sales websites, they were listed at an average asking price of $61,670 with an average mileage of about 11,600 on the clock. That’s more than $15,500 over the MSRP when new!

A 1ADDICTS member shares with us his recent vacation trip through the Southwest Virginia in his 1M Coupe, with a stop at the Virginia International Raceway, but also some luxury and twisty roads.
Here is a journal of their trip:

The first stop on our vacation trip was Virginia International Raceway to participate in the VIR Open House and Charity Laps. This event, that is usually held twice a year, is used to develop business and memberships for VIR while raising money for charity.

According to the BMW Welt/Museum FB page, the very last 1 Series M Coupe has been delivered to Dietmar Götzmann at the BMW Welt recently. Götzmann (left) is the general manager partner of Uwe Ratzel GmbH & Co. KG (BMW Zentrum/dealership). It is unclear when Dietmar Götzmann had taken delivery of his 1M. But we believe it to be recently.
Here’s what the 1M Coupe would look like if it had been offered in Laguna Seca Blue.
Think there are a lot of 1 Series in Taiwan? If you didn’t, this should change your mind. This recent meet saw over sixty 1 Series in attendance, with twenty of them being 1M coupes, which would be impressive even in a big BMW market like the US or Germany.
Check out the event videos and photos.
UK 1M owners from 1ADDICTS had their largest owners meet yet yesterday at the Ace Cafe. Over 18 1Ms were in attendance, along with a 1M 123d replica and a 135i.
Those in attendance have begun posting their photos and videos, so check them out inside.
These are the results many have been waiting for. Sportauto has just released their much anticipated Supertest of the 1-series M Coupe. The outcome: An amazing Hockenheim track time, a solid result at the Nürburgring and (mostly) praises from the reviewer, Horst von Saurma.
An earlier Sportauto review already mentioned the 1M’s amazing performance at Hockenheim of 1:14.1, which is not only 7 tenths of a second faster than the Audi TT-RS and 1.3 seconds faster than the RS 3 but also faster than any E9x M3 … CONTINUED
Top Gear comes in with its in-depth comparison review of the BMW 1M coupe versus the Audi RS3, perhaps its most direct rival and competitor.
This past saturday, the German Tuner magazine Sport Auto held their annual Tuner GP at Hockenheim Grand Prix raceway. This yearly event pits tuners from all over Europe against each other to see who is the best for bragging rights and with the victory comes added exposure for those shops in the winners circle. The TechTec BMW 1M coupe with its Akrapovic prototype exhaust, KW suspension, and 443hp, took 3rd place in the competition, behind a Lotus Exige and supercharged E46 M3.

We’d like to make clear that the previous announcement of the 1M coupe’s end of production in December 2011 is specific for the US market. The production schedule we refer to for such info is US-market specific. Whether the 1M remains in production beyond that for the other markets remains to be seen.
Tiff Needeell, one of the more respected TV automotive reviewers tests the 1M coupe in the hills of the Scottish countryside. How did the 1M perform according to Tiff?
Tiff seems ultra pleased with the 1M’s “great feel, the chassis, the revs of this lovely engine, the throttle response.” He points out some lag at 1500 RPM in 6th gear, but calls the acceleration at 4000 RPM in 3rd gear virtually instantaneous. As for handling, the 1M has great turn in and even with traction control off, … CONTINUED
According to the official BMW model production schedule (attached below), the 1M coupe will end production in December 2011, making a total production run of 10 months. The chart also indicates that there will not be a second (2012) model year. If recent speculations comes to fruition, the successor to the 1M coupe will be the BMW M2 Coupe, as BMW will switch the next generation small BMW coupe to the 2-series badge.
Richard Hammond (of Top Gear) reviews the BMW 1M coupe. No surprise, he’s a fan. We’re looking forward to seeing the car reviewed and flogged on the Top Gear television series!
Shortly after BMW released the 1M, it debuted the 1M SafetyCar for the MotoGP series. Besides a unique paintscheme and some CF addons, the car was also lowered a good amount and sporting KW stickers. The writing was on the wall and we all knew that it was only a matter of time before a coilover kit was released for the 1M.
The coilovers are a Variant 3 system of KW’s kit, which means that the coilovers are both rebound (infinitely) and compression (14) adjustable along with … CONTINUED
