Think there are a lot of 1 Series in Taiwan? If you didn’t, this should change your mind. This recent meet saw over sixty 1 Series in attendance, with twenty of them being 1M coupes, which would be impressive even in a big BMW market like the US or Germany.

UK 1M owners from 1ADDICTS had their largest owners meet yet yesterday at the Ace Cafe. Over 18 1Ms were in attendance, along with a 1M 123d replica and a 135i.

Production of the 1M Coupe is about to end at the Leipzig plant, and one of the last models to roll off the line is a special one-off Java Green 1M.
All its black trim pieces are finished in black chrome and the wheels are from the M3 GTS.
This isn’t the first Java Green BMW however, as there has also previously been an Individual Java Green M3 Coupe produced.
The very limited production M3 GTS may be difficult to attain, so Japanese tuner Studie has taken a slightly more attainable (though still exclusive) model, the BMW 1M coupe, and given it a M3 GTS look, complete with fire orange exterior paint, black wheels and the high rear racing wing from the M3 GTS. BIMMERPOST member Advevo, Andre de Vries, a race car driver and BMW enthusiast shows off his driving skills and the 1M coupe’s control in some great drifting action at the Papenburg Test Track, a track usually reserved strictly for testing cars in development.
Headed by former Brabham Racing employees, Alpha-N is a company focusing on the development of carbon body components in addition to the maintenance as of all BT vehicles (Brabham Racing). Their latest creation is the 1M RS (based on the BMW 1M coupe).
It features a ventilated carbon hood, front fascia add-on carbon lower spoilers, carbon roof, carbon luggage lid spoiler and a carbon rear fascia diffuser.

Bavaria Performance based in Munich, Germany has put together an impressive 135i to 1M conversion by way of the Prior Design 135i widebody kit and a full compliment of BMW Performance parts goodies and LCI facelift retrofit items.

Steve Sutcliffe of Autocar gives us his thoughts on his BMW 1M coupe long term tester. It seems that the 1M coupe has grown on Sutcliffe over time as his review is glowing. Video inside.
German tuner Tuningwerk transforms the already potent 1M Coupe into a 514hp monster, which they’ve dubbed the Tuningwerk 1M RS.
What they’ve done with the factory 335hp / 332lb-ft N54 engine is given it a ECU tune, modified its turbos, customized cooling system with additional secondary cooler, and replaced factory exhaust with custom titanium exhaust system. This all works to produce 514hp (521PS) and 453 lb-ft torque (614Nm) (from 2800 RPM). Top speed is 186mph.

Powerbeast’s 1M coupe is no stranger to attention, having been featured as one of our BMWs of the month recently. But, it’s about to get as much attention as an 1M coupe can, having donned a Dakar Yellow coat as its newest wardrobe choice.

Site member and renowned driver Advevo shows how much driving skill equalizes the power and performance difference between cars. The 1M is no slouch but on paper it gives up much to the lightweight M3 GTS, but Advevo manages to keep it a very close race on this Nurbrugring lap.
This lap by Advevo in his 1M was completed in just 7.45, an impressive task in and of itself.
German tuner Hartge has released its tuning program and cosmetic upgrades for the 1 series M coupe.
For more power, the Hartge ECU tune for the 1M’s N54 engine paired with its sports exhaust system pushes the 1M’s power from the factory 335hp/332lb-ft to 396hp and 391lb-ft torque.
The resulting real-world performance increase? According to Hartge, their 1M goes from 0-200kmh (124mph) in 11.34 seconds (a 2.18 second increase over the factory 1M’s 13.52 seconds). On top of that, there’s an increase in efficiency of 0.5L/km less consumption … CONTINUED

No, this isn’t a shot from outside the Leipzig factory where the 1M was manufactured. This is from a Southern California 1ADDICTS meet where no less than 20 1M coupes gathered this past weekend for a meet & greet. No surprise as the SoCal area is likely to have the biggest concentration of 1Ms in any single geographic area in the world. Check out the great photos inside.
