Production form F30 3 series sedans have now hit the streets in force and we bring you the first look at a base F30 3 series. The F30 3 series models revealed at the reveal event two weeks ago were all examples of the upcoming F30 lines – Sport Line, Modern Line, and Luxury Line.
On the exterior, the blue F30 shows that a base trim model will differ from the “Line” models mostly in the lack of any extra front bumper adornments. This is also the first look at the all new Liquid Blue color on an F30. Liquid Blue will be available from March 2012.
Also posted below are photos of a Havana Metallic F30 Modern Line model.
The F30 officially comes to market in February 2012.

We’re happy to share the best spyhots of the F32 4 series coupe to date. Days after the first ever spotting of the F32 4 series coupe, our spies have caught another F32 prototype, this time in white.
Compared to the recently unveiled F30 3 series sedan, the 4 series coupe will have a more muscular and sleek appearance. The shoulder line at the rear quarter panel is more pronounced and the roofline lower. These shots also allow us a better look at the shape of the rear windows and the famous Hofmeister kink.
Keep in mind that the car looks larger than it actually is due to some of the camouflage paneling, particularly on the front fascia. The heavy camouflage on the front and rear also obscure … CONTINUED
The sixth generation of the BMW 3 Series celebrated its debut in Munich last Friday. The whole world was able to attend the presentation in the BMW plant and BMW Welt live, via Facebook. The BMW Group’s most important volume model will be taking off at the beginning of February 2012. The launch campaign for the new BMW 3 Series underlines the sportily dynamic positioning of the vehicle, coupled with maximum efficiency and impressive design. Across all sales channels, the campaign consistently shows sportiness and passion as the central themes.
The first online measures can already be viewed at www.bmw.com and www.facebook.com/bmw. The online description on the BMW website provides all the information about the vehicle. Alongside details about the design of the vehicle, handling, … CONTINUED
We’re thrilled to post the world’s first photos of the F32 3 series (or 4 series) coupe! Despite the heavy camouflage you can see a very sleek and sporty design. As usual for BMW coupes, there are frameless windows and a B-pillar for structural rigidity. There’s a lot of camouflage around the rear windows so the shape of the window or the famous Hofmeister kink can’t be made out yet.
We expect the F32 to get the same engines as the just-unveiled F30 3 series sedan, i.e. the 4-cylinder turbo engine in the 28i and the 6-cylinder turbo 35i. As the F32 is supposed to take on a more upmarket image than the F30, perhaps BMW will offer a higher output for the 35i. Just speculation for … CONTINUED
We’re coming to you live from the 2012 3-series F30 reveal event in Munich and to say that it’s been an exciting reveal would be an understatement!
BMW rolled out all three F30 lines at the event. We’ve posted a huge gallery below of each of the F30 Sport, F30 Modern, and F30 Luxury line models. Enjoy!
Be sure to catch all the F30 details at our 2012 3 Series Official Info Thread
The sixth generation of the BMW 3 Series Sedan, the world’s best-selling premium car, sets new benchmarks in terms of sporting prowess, elegance and comfort. The pioneering history of the 3 Series serves as inspiration for the new sports sedan, whose powerful styling represents a fresh interpretation and conscientious development of traditional BMW design cues. The new BMW face, with flat headlights reaching along as far as the BMW kidney grille, emphasises the elegantly dynamic design of the new BMW 3 Series. The sixth generation of the 3 Series has grown in size compared to its predecessor, with its wide track (front + 37 mm, rear + 47 mm) particularly prominent, and the car’s increased length (+ 93 mm) and augmented wheelbase (+ 50 mm) also … CONTINUED
Just 2 weeks to the day before its debut, the F30 has shed more of its camouflage, revealing the lower front bumper and sideskirts.
If the F20 1 series is any indication, it’s possible we could be looking at the F30 Sport Line model. As pictured below, the F20 Sport Line also features a very similar design on its bumper inlets, with horizontal bars running from the fog lights.
Like the F20, the 2012 F30 3 series is expected to be available in different ‘lines’ – possibly a Sport Line, Modern Line, and Luxury Line.

We last spied the F30 hybrid back in February for the first time out in heavy camouflage. It has now shed its heavy camouflage and taken to the Nurburgring for track testing. One can tell this is a hybrid version by the typical “Rescue” stickers on its doors and rear bumper (which is always present BMW’s hybrid test vehicles).
The F30 3-series will be the first 3-series hybrid from BMW and will adopt much of the technology from the upcoming hybrid F10 5-series which is scheduled to debut this winter. The F30 hybrid will be released some time after the diesel and petrol F30 models are released next year.
