The debut of the all-new 2013 BMW M6 models also marks the debut of the long-awaited M Carbon Ceramic Brakes option. Details are limited so far but we’ve compiled what’s known so far:
The M Carbon Ceramic Brakes have bigger rotors at the front axle (410mm vs 400mm standard), reduce the unsprung weight by 19.4 kg or 42.8 lb, and obviously increase fade resistance. While the standard brake calipers for the M6 models are painted in dark blue metallic, the carbon ceramic brakes are painted in a … CONTINUED

BMW has published official photos and information on the new BMW M5 (F10) last week, and today we’re happy to share the very first video of the fully unveiled production M5 in action! Check it out inside.
After BMW released their initial set of images for the new M5, we were sure another set would become available with beautiful scenery and high action. Well, I woke up this morning with a pleasant surprise. BMW has really outdone itself with this set of wallpapers, if you want a beautiful desktop image, this is it!
We’ve stacked the F10 M5 up against the E63 AMG and CTS-V, but there are other cars in the segment which warrant further comparison, namely the Porsche Panamera Turbo/S and the Jaguar XF-R.
This comparison covers cars from a wide range of prices – from $80,000 to $173,000, but on paper the performance specs and owner demographics are close enough to compare. Again, the real tests will come from test drives, reviews, and direct comparos of the M5 against its rivals.
Now that the Official F10 M5 Production stats and specs have been revealed, the natural question is how it compares to its most direct competitors. We undertake this comparison below, with a photo and specs shootout against two of the M5′s biggest rivals — the 2012 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and the 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Sedan.
As some might not know yet, Mercedes-Benz has recently announced the use of their new 5.5L twin turbo V8 for the E63 beginning this Fall. We’ve used this new engine’s specs to … CONTINUED
BMW has a good habit of keeping its production vehicles very close to their concept forms. This holds true with the just revealed F10 M5 as well, which is extremely close to its concept form. The only visual difference we spot by sight is the sleeker/smaller mirrors which were not present on the concept M5 and the more aggressive sideskirts on the production M5. The wheels are simply a silver version of the gloss black wheels on the concept M5.
We’ve put together a set of comparison … CONTINUED

Presenting the first look at the official F10 M5 production model! These are leaked F10 M5 photos from AutoZeitung, a German publication.
The F10 M5 production is barely changed from the concept version, featuring the same exterior styling, except for more streamlined side view mirrors and more aggressive sideskirts on the production model, as we predicted.
The official press release and full set of photos will come early next week, followed by the public debut at the M Festival (next Thursday, June 23).
We’ve spotted a black F10 M5 prototype conducting some final testing. It wears a minimal amount of camouflage and the least amount of cover we’ll see prior to seeing the production version. What you see is essentially the production version, including the mirrors and sideskirts which were not seen on the concept M5 model.
If you’re tired of seeing spy photos of preproduction M5s, you won’t have to wait much longer to see the production version. It will be revealed in just over two weeks time at … CONTINUED
Here are some new photos of an Alpine White FEP prototype. Looks to the M5 concept for a good idea of what the camouflaged parts will look like on the production M5, although the mirrors and sideskirts will be the versions seen on the test prototypes.
Expected to debut at the M Festival at the Nurburgring in just over a month, the F10 M5 will feature the S63 Twin Turbo V8, rumored to produce more power and torque than the equivalent X5/X6M unit while producing 25% less … CONTINUED
Southern California appears to be a hotbed for FEP stage F10 M5 prototype testing, as multiple test cars are spotted each week. Another black F10 M5 prototype was just spotted last week (video/photos inside). The chase car was no slouch – an E39 M5, and it still had problems keeping up in the beginning of the video.
Although it remains clad in camouflage, we already know what the production F10 M5 will essentially look like by referencing the F10 M5 Concept, albeit with the mirrors and sideskirts … CONTINUED
Now that the BMW Concept M5 has been shown to the public, BMW has basicly unwrapped their test fleet of M5s– because we all know the shape. The benefit of that for us is that we get a preview of the M5 in a variety of colors, and so far we’ve gotten to see the car in Silver and White. Other popular colors such as Monte Carlo Blue have been shown off in the past, but unfortunatly with the body cladding still on the … CONTINUED
Here are the first ever photos of the F10 M5 Concept’s interior. Clearly seen is the tachometer’s redline, DCT with Drivelogic, and unique M fixtures such as the M tri-color stitching and textured trim.
The F10 M5 concept has made its first public debut at a 2011 Shanghai Autoshow pre-show press event. The F10 M5 concept has previously only been shown in a private event hosted by BMW M GmbH at the Garching headquarters.
We undertook yesterday a photo comparison of the F10 M5 concept versus the E60 M5 concept. But how does the F10 M5 compare to its direct German rivals – the Mercedes Benz E63 AMG and the Audi RS6. Let’s take a look below.
