M5 and M6 owners-to-be will have to wait just a bit longer for upgraded stopping power.
We have confirmed with BMW that the M Carbon Ceramic Brake system originally set for availability beginning with the 2013 Model Year M5 and M6 (starting July production), has been delayed until sometime in calendar year 2013.
There’s no indication yet of when exactly in 2013 it will become available, and the new availability date applies not just to North America, but in all markets worldwide.

The Monte Carlo Blue 2013 BMW M5 competed in a totally stock configuration (in showroom floor form), with the exception of high performance brake pads and high temperature brake fluid. Two exclusive new M Performance Editions for the BMW M3 and BMW M5 are being built by BMW M GmbH solely for the UK market. Just thirty of each model will be available costing £74,080 OTR for the M3 M Performance Edition and the M5 M Performance Edition is priced at £95,140 OTR.
