The BMW 6 Series coupe will be available at dealerships later this fall, and now BMW has taken the wraps off the entire engine and model range of the 6-Series Coupe.
And it looks like they are giving the 6-Series the star treatment with availability of a diesel variant (640d), an xDrive variant (650i) and of course M-Sport and Individual vehicles. The new xDrive system will only be available on the 650i, but as was reported earlier a 6-cylinder 640i is now available, which should make the 6-Series more attainable.
These are the new engine ranges at a glance:
BMW 650i Coupe (BMW 650i xDrive Coupe)
V8 petrol engine,
BMW TwinPower Turbo technology with two turbochargers and
high-precision direct injection,
displacement: 4 395 cc, output: 300 kW/407 hp at … CONTINUED
The upcoming BMW 6-Series Coupe will come in a 640i flavor, featuring the turbocharged inline-6 series dubbed the N55. This configuration has so far not made it to the US on the Cabrio version, but Autoblog.com has confirmed that the 640i will make it here in both Coupe and Cabrio versions when the coupe arrives this fall.
The N55 is a TwinPower turbo 3.0L inline-6 pumping out 316HP and 332ft-lb of torque in European spec.
In addition to the N55, Autoblog has also learnt that the AWD xDrive system will also become a new option, but only on the V8 650i.
Hartge has begun its tuning program for the new 6-series. Thus far, the Hartge 6-series is equipped with a stainless steel sport exhaust system, 19″ or 20″ Hartge wheels, and lower springs which lower the car by 30mm front and 25mm rear.
No info on yet what cosmetic aero parts will be forthcoming.
The interiors of Hartge car can be equipped with Hartge mats, steering wheel, and aluminum pedal set.
An astute (and camera equipped) site member spotted this Le Mans blue F13 6-series coupe M-sport on the way to work this morning. This is the first time we have seen the 6-series coupe M-sport prototype with the actual M-sport wheels, which we uncovered last month. Thanks to LeMans335xiE90 for his efforts, as he was 1 hour late to work for bringing us this video.
The official release and announcement of the 6-series convertible is coming today. Autoexpress has already printed photos in their latest edition and BMW insider Scott teases with the same announcement. Stay tuned to our homepage!
We bring you the first sighting of the next generation 6-series coupe (F12) testing on the Nurburgring. The last coupe sightings were back in April and only F13 convertibles have been spotted since. This comes as no surprise as the coupe is scheduled for production a few months after the start of convertible production.
Judging by the exhaust and premium sport wheels, this appears to be a 650i coupe.
Here is the BMW announced production schedule for the F12 / F13 6-series coupe and convertible.
March 2011 – 650cv
July 2011 – 650cp
September 2011 – 640cp/cv
September 2011 – 650xi cp/cv

The upcoming 6-series has been one of the most frequently spied future BMWs as it’s one of the BMW models that will be revealed in the next few months (Winter of 2010/2011). This is the first time a blue convertible has been spotted and also some of the best photos yet of the grill/duct work of the front bumper. We recently brought you photos of the F13 2012 6-series convertible undergoing testing on the ring. Various F13′s have also been spotted on and around the Nurburgring in various models and trims, including what looks to be 650i and 640i convertibles.
We bring you photos of the F13 6-series convertible sporting a tan color soft top for the first time. We have not yet seen confirmation of the soft top colors to be available on the upcoming F13. If this tan top is one of those colors, it certainly matches Milano Beige (as pictured), but were not sure it will work well with other exterior colors.
The soon to be outgoing 2010 6-series convertible is currently available in a black or gray soft stop.
