Two 335i F30 race cars (the first we know of in the world) will debut in South Africa on March 31, 2012. These cars are built and raced by ADF Motorsport based at the Kyalami Race track. They will race in the Bridgestone Production Cars race in the WesBank Super series and be broadcast on Supersport in South Africa.

About ADF Motorsport:

At the end of November 2007, BMW SA Motorsport made the decision to withdraw from South African motorsport for the near foreseeable future. Whilst the rest of SA was enjoying their holiday on the beach, five-time South African champion Anthony Taylor approached marketing and publishing specialist Donovan van Heerden to secure their sponsorship, to assist him and ex-BMW SA Motorsport race engineer, Freddie Pretorius, … CONTINUED

BMW launched and announced its initial M Performance Parts lineup officially at the 2012 Geneva Motorshow. There are many different product categories like exhaust systems, engine tuning, drivetrain, suspension, and interior/exterior. We develop these parts together with the engineers of M GmbH. In this video, the Product Managers of BMW’s new M Performance Parts retrofit accessories explain and show us the philosophies, process, and techniques behind the development of the BMW M Performance Parts. As one can see, the M Performance Parts are developed in collaboration with BMW M designers and engineers for both visual and performance enhancements.

As soon as the production vehicle process is completed, the technical sketch and design phase for M Performance Parts begins. Only real carbon fiber is used in the production of M Performance Parts components.

The M Performance exhausts are tested in a BMW soundlab where the production exhaust CAD data is used as the basis for sound engineering the M Performance exhaust system. Intensive testing is conducted for both exterior and interior … CONTINUED

The highly anticipated M Sport Package for the new F30 3-series sedan has made another appearance, this time at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. While earlier shows and presentations saw the 335i M Sport, this is the first time we see a 328i getting the M Sport treatment. As most should know, the exterior color is called Estoril Blue II and it’s exclusive to the M Sport package.

This car is also fitted with the M Sport Brakes comprising of fixed piston calipers painted in blue at all 4 corners (4-piston units at the front, 2-piston units at the rear).

The M Sport Package for the F30 3-series will be available as of July 2012 production, with first US deliveries to be expected in September.

It’s still quite new on the market but already has many admirers: In February, the new BMW 3- series was launched officially. Now the smart, energetic Bavarian is winning even more hearts at the international Motor Show in Geneva – helped by the tuning specialists at AC Schnitzer.

The Aachen-based experts from AC Schnitzer help the 3-series make an even more impressive appearance with a performance upgrade for the BMW 328i. An extra control unit allows it to deliver 217 kW/ 295 HP and a maximum torque of 410 Nm onto the asphalt, and with its governed top speed of 250 km/h the 3-series by AC Schnitzer tightens the bonds to its driver. As appearances are also important, these inner values are reflected in the AC Schnitzer … CONTINUED

The M Performance Parts party continues. Just minutes after our Live Gallery of the F20 125i equipped with M Performance Parts, BMW has published the full M Performance parts catalog to coincide with its official release/announcement at the 2012 Geneva Motorshow.

M Performance Parts carry the M name because they have been developed together with M engineers for both performance and aesthetics enhancement. This collaboration with M engineers began just last year. This is what sets M Performance Parts apart from what used to be called simply “BMW Performance Parts” (which will be no more going forward).

As of now, M Performance Parts are or will be available for these models:

F10 5-series
F20 1-series
F30 3-serie… CONTINUED

Some days ago, BMW has officially announced the M Performance Parts lineup for the F30 3 series (and the F10 and the F20). Today, we’re happy to share more information on the M Performance Brakes. Thanks to E90Fleet for this information!

The M Performance brakes are manufactured by Brembo, and calipers are available in three colors: Yellow, Orange, and Red. Front calipers are fixed 4-piston units while rear calipers are fixed 2-piston units. The rotors are drilled and slotted and measure 370×30 mm at the front and 345×25 mm at the rear. Thus it comes as no surprise that minimum wheel size required will be 18 inches. The M Performance Brakes are said to be available from July 2012 on as dealer installed parts.

By comparison, the … CONTINUED
