BMW today announced new BMW M Performance Parts specially designed for the new 2012 BWW 3 Series Sedan and 2011-2012 5 Series Sedan. Like the BMW M Performance Parts already available for the high-performance M3, 1 Series M Coupe, X5 M and X6 M, the components developed for 3 Series and 5 Series models ensure an authentic transfer of BMW M-specific motor racing technology to everyday driving.
This new line of accessories provides a distinctive, sporty character to further enhance driving dynamics. At the Malaysian launch of the new F30 3 Series, BMW showcased a 328i partially adorned in some M Performance Parts.
As we can see, not all F30 M Performance Parts are featured here, with the exterior aero kit parts missing (M Sport bumpers, carbon fiber front splitters, carbon fiber mirrors, sideskirts, trunk spoiler, and rear diffuser).
Featured however are the the M Performance gloss black grilles, M Performance racing stripes, 20″ Style 405M M Performance wheels, M Performance brakes in orange (4 piston front, 2 piston rear, and which also come in yellow and red) with 370mm brake discs.

BMW launched and announced its initial M Performance Parts lineup officially at the 2012 Geneva Motorshow. While the now released M Performance Parts official catalog explains much, we took some time to find out some more details for you. Stefan Weiss of the M Performance Parts team was helpful in giving us some further insight.
Please give us a quick overview on the M Performance Parts. What’s the motive for ‘renaming’ the Performance Parts program to M Performance Parts?
M Performance Parts are now available for the new 1 series, 3 series, and 5 series. There are many different product categories like exhaust systems, engine tuning, drivetrain, suspension, and interior/exterior. We develop these parts together with the engineers of M GmbH. The M Performance Parts party continues. Just minutes after our Live Gallery of the F20 125i equipped with M Performance Parts, BMW has published the full M Performance parts catalog to coincide with its official release/announcement at the 2012 Geneva Motorshow.
M Performance Parts carry the M name because they have been developed together with M engineers for both performance and aesthetics enhancement. This collaboration with M engineers began just last year. This is what sets M Performance Parts apart from what used to be called simply “BMW Performance Parts” (which will be no more going forward).

It’s official: Only a couple of days after the first teaser, BMW announces their new M Performance Parts. Think of this program as the successor of the Performance parts avaiable for E8x 1 series and E9x 3 series.
Intitially, M Performance parts will be available for the F30 3 series, the F10 5 series, and the F20 1 series (not available in the US). Available are:
- Black kidney grilles
- M Performance exhaust systems
- M Performance brakes
- Carbon fiber front splitters
- M Performance steering wheel

The F30 3 series accessories brochure (US edition) has been released. Available for the 3 Series F30 as accessories wheels are five different designs – Style 361 (in two designs/colors), Style 404, Style 413 (winter wheels) and Style 396 (winter wheels).
Also in the catalog are mudflaps, indoor/outdoor car cover, interior accessories, and many styles of floor mats (carpeted and all-weather).

Seen here, at the Brussels auto show is the first sight of the F30 3 series M Sport looking great with the optional Style 403M 19″ wheels and the blue M sport brakes that we’ve been mentioning. As we just posted about, it hasn’t yet been decided whether the blue M Sport brakes will be a part of the M Sport Package or optional.
Also being displayed with this F30 M Sport model are some BMW Performance and M Performance – an M Performance alcantara dashboard cover with carbon fiber fabric trim, a performance flat bottom alcantara steering wheel with red center marker, and performance racing pedals. Parts we can see include carbon fiber splitters, carbon fiber front lip, gloss kidney grilles, 19″ wheels, performance racing stripes, and painted rear bumper diffuser.
On the standard F30, you can see the BMW Performance sideskirts and gloss black wheels with red pinstripes.
Expect a whole host of the standard types of BMW Performance parts – brakes, mirror covers, software tune, suspension, etc. once the F30 BMW Performance parts catalog is officially announced.
