The F31 3-series touring/wagon has been spotted in testing again, this time in a new color – liquid blue. Liquid blue recently showed up as new BMW color for the 2012 3-series E92 coupe and 2012 1-series F20 hatchback and this is the first ever look at the new light blue paint color.

No official word yet on whether the F31 touring/wagon will be available in North America, but in a recent interview with Automotive News, the now retired BMWNA CEO Jim O’Donnell says he wishes the company hadn’t stopped selling the F11 5 series wagon in the United States last year because the company thought a lot its 5-series station wagon customers would go with the GT. It’s been over a year since our last F31 touring sighting (last video and pics), but this time the F31 has been spotted showing some of its body for the first time. Some of the camouflage tape has been dropped to give us a better look of its shape and styling.

Overall the F31 touring will grow in size from its E91 predecessor, which will give it some added practicality, one of the main advantages the touring has over its sedan and coupe siblings.

Will the F31 wagon go the way of the dodo in North America as the current 5-series touring has? Will North Americans only get the 3-series GT instead?
