The first F32 4 Series / 3 Series coupe prototypes were spotted for the first time ever just last month. And although it appeared in heavy camouflage, we’ve attempted to envision what the production form may look like underneath.
In producing the following images, we started from a real life F32 spy photo (attached below) and combined it with some elements from the F30’s styling, along with some educated guesses and imagination sprinkled throughout. We’ll be able to better assess the accuracy of the image’s detailed styling elements as the F32 prototypes lose some camouflage, but for now, the general shape, proportions, and stance seen in these renders are accurate.
The result is a production F32 with very sleek and wide width-to-height proportions, seemingly more so than the … CONTINUED

The BMW Group is investing half a billion euros in building the new BMW 3 Series at the Munich plant, where series production launches today.
“The BMW 3 Series is the most important volume-produced model from the BMW Group as well as the biggest-selling model in the entire premium segment. To ensure that the sixth generation of the BMW 3 Series likewise leaves the factory in flawless quality, we have invested around 500 million euros in our Munich home plant. And that means safeguarding 9,000 workplaces,” said Frank-Peter Arndt, Member of the BMW AG Board of Management responsible for production, in Munich on Friday.
As series production of the new BMW 3 Series Sedan got under way, Christian Ude, Mayor of Munich, along with Manfred Schoch, Chairman of … CONTINUED

On the exterior, the blue F30 shows that a base trim model will differ from the “Line” models mostly in the lack of any extra front bumper adornments. This is also the first look at the all new Liquid Blue color on an F30. Liquid Blue will be available from March 2012.
Also posted below are photos of a Havana Metallic F30 Modern Line model.

We’re happy to share the best spyhots of the F32 4 series coupe to date. Days after the first ever spotting of the F32 4 series coupe, our spies have caught another F32 prototype, this time in white.
Compared to the recently unveiled F30 3 series sedan, the 4 series coupe will have a more muscular and sleek appearance. The shoulder line at the rear quarter panel is more pronounced and the roofline lower. These shots also allow us a better look at the shape of the rear windows and the famous Hofmeister kink.
Keep in mind that the car looks larger than it actually is due to some of the camouflage paneling, particularly on the front fascia. The heavy camouflage on the front and rear also obscure … CONTINUED

We’re thrilled to post the world’s first photos of the F32 3 series (or 4 series) coupe! Despite the heavy camouflage you can see a very sleek and sporty design. As usual for BMW coupes, there are frameless windows and a B-pillar for structural rigidity. There’s a lot of camouflage around the rear windows so the shape of the window or the famous Hofmeister kink can’t be made out yet.
We expect the F32 to get the same engines as the just-unveiled F30 3 series sedan, i.e. the 4-cylinder turbo engine in the 28i and the 6-cylinder turbo 35i. As the F32 is supposed to take on a more upmarket image than the F30, perhaps BMW will offer a higher output for the 35i. Just speculation for … CONTINUED
According to a new report from Autobild, BMW is considering reordering the nomenclature of their model lineup for consistency. If this happens, all sedan, wagons, and GT’s will get odd numbers. All coupes, convertibles and Gran Coupe’s get even numbers.
In other words, the successors of the E92 3-series coupe would become the 4-series coupe (F32), the E93 3-series convertible a 4-series convertible (F33). BMW had similar plans for the current generation E92 and E93 3-series but got cold feet for several reasons. Now the successful introduction of Audi A5 and Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe is reportedly making BMW reconsider the introduction of a 4-series again, says Autobild. If this pans out, this may be the next generation 3-series and 4-series models lineup. See inside. BMW 2 series … CONTINUED
