Jeremy Clarkson has published his list of the top 100 cars of 2013, and the BMW i3 has placed first, i8 second, and the 3 Series second, in their respective categories of Electric Cars/Hybrids, Supercars, and Family/Estate Cars.
The other three BMW models to crack the 100 list were the 7 Series (8th place in Executive category), the 5 Series (10th place in the Executive category) and the X3 (9th place in SUV category).

Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (BMW), the world’s biggest maker of luxury vehicles, is considering a production increase for the i3 electric car after early demand for the model exceeded the automaker’s expectations.
Customers have reserved more than 8,000 of the compact city car, which will cost $41,350 in the U.S., even before the battery-powered model hits European showrooms next month, Chief Financial Officer Friedrich Eichiner said late yesterday.

A BMW i3 was fully charged in under 30-minutes today at the first-ever public charging station in the US to offer the SAE Combo-Charging fast charging system. The public charging station is located at the Fashion Valley Mall in San Diego, CA. The optional fast charging system will enable the BMW i3 driver to charge their EV from a standard 110 volt outlet with a cord set, a 220 volt charging wallbox or public charging station and also from a DC Fast Charging public charging station all from the same charging inlet.
