BMW today announced a portion of its lineup to be displayed at this year’s Los Angeles International Auto Show press days [public days go from November 30 - December 9]. A rumor comes from French magazine L’Automobile claiming that a BMW i4 Concept will be shown at the Los Angeles auto show in late November.
Details are scant so far, but resident BMW insider Scott26 previously alluded to both an i4 and i5 last year. The BMW i4 is said to be based off the i3 but will be a two seater i8-like sports car. If true, the i4 would surely utilize the same carbon fiber construction and hybrid drivetrain as the i3.

BMW has been busy trademarking. Below is a list of some recent BMW trademark filings for future potential models. Remember, just because a manufacturer registers a trademark does not mean that the model will necessarily come to fruition. But, it makes for some fun speculation and certainly paints a rough map of what potential future models we may see out of Munich.

The BMW i3 and i8 concepts have been revealed online, but BMW i is not done. According to Scott26, the BMW i4 and BMW i5 are the next models to come out from BMW i.
The BMW i4 will be based on i3 technology, but fit into a small two seater sports car (think smaller and more affordable i8). The BMW i5 will be a mid-sized four door coupe/sedan, using the power train from the BMW i8. Concept versions will come sometime … CONTINUED
BMW AG has officially filed a registration for a new trademark and logo for their project-i vehicles such as the electric Megacity car and hybrid Vision EfficientDynamics sports car. The trademarks i1, i2, i3, i4, i5, i6, i7, i8, and i9 have also been registered.
