A resourceful F30POST member went BMW VIN diving and may have uncovered many details for the upcoming BMW M3 Sedan (F80) and M4 Coupe (F82)!
While obviously no production F80 M3 or F82 M4 have rolled off the line yet, manufacturers like BMW register VINs for their pre-production test cars, so finding the details behind such VINs can reveal much about the upcoming production models (although keep in mind that everything is subject to change by the time the model hits production).
So, what does the BMW … CONTINUED
Per M5POST member hsiaochinsan:
Awesome meet today in a sunny afternoon in Bay Area (Palo Alto Meet). It was a fun meet to meet and get to know other local F10 M5 owners. We had a great time. First time seeing krispykreme’s Amazonite Silver M5. The color was astonishing. Great to re-unit with cnicholson after our ED meet. Barry’s car looks sharp with his H&R and spacer set up. Sanguru and Barry’s Eisenmann set-up was amazing. We also got to see wdimagineer’s AW with his M6 … CONTINUED

Project Fire: Version Two. In the heart of every M3 enthusiast is the desire to own a “special” M3, one that illustrates their love for everything BMW but also with their own unique flair and individualization. On Project Fire: Version Two, we made the car into a close GTS replica, with an edge.
Once we acquired the OEM M3 GTS wing, we knew the direction of the project’s new version. The AE Performance Bar in Fire Orange and RECARO SPG XLs … CONTINUED
We’ve spied the upcoming LCI facelift updated 5 Series again, and the sighting comes on the first Plug-in Hybrid 5 Series we’ve spotted. The LCI update will facelift the entire 5 Series lineup, including the F10 sedan, F11 touring, F07 GT, and the F10 M5, although the styling updates do not look to be too drastic.
The F10 LCI prototypes spotted thus far have shown slightly sportier side mirrors, with integrated turn signals (still camouflaged on previous prototypes seen). Some LCI prototypes have been spotted with … CONTINUED
Here is the full set of our BMW F82 M4 Coupe Concept renders – with a front, rear, and interior view. Enjoy!
Germany based Hartge has released the figures on its ECU software tune for the M5 and M6 good for 642hp and 810 Nm (597 lb-ft), representing an increase of +82 hp and +130 Nm (96 lb-ft) over the factory figures.
Hartge quotes a new 0-62mph time of 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 190mph (305kmh).
This is achieved with the ECU tune as well as a stainless steel exhaust system.
The Hartge F10 M5 below also showcases Hartge lowering springs which lowers the M5 by 25mm front … CONTINUED
Are you the BMW M4 (F82) Coupe Concept?
Here are results from the Sport Auto performance test comparing the 2013 Alpina B6 (F13) versus the 2013 M6 (F13) coupe.
The Alpina B6 Biturbo (full specs) is powered by BMW’s 4.4L V8 engine rated at 540hp and 730nm torque and top speed of 334 km/h.
The M6 features 560hp and 680Nm torque with a top speed of 305 km/h.
CAR Magazine claims that these 2014 F80 M3 sedan images are the real deal, received from BMW. But, judging by their recent history with a false claim that a F10 M5 image they printed was also the real thing, we’re inclined to think that this may again be a case of crying wolf.
Via G-Power: Sometimes less is even more. For example in regards of a car’s weight. Because less weight improves the performance of the BMW M3 and so provides more driving pleasure. With the G-POWER aerodynamic program “RS”, which is completely fabricated from Carbon fibre, one can make the BMW M3 lighter and therefore faster. At the same time the G-POWER “RS” Carbon parts increases the aerodynamic downforce and thus provides for even faster cornering speeds.
G-POWER’s roots have their origin in motorsports. Already in the … CONTINUED
It’s been weeks since the last F80 M3 sightings, but we’ve now spotted the 2014 M3 prototype undergoing winter/cold climate testing and it looks like the testing has advanced to another stage.
M Carbon Ceramic Brakes
For the first time, we see the F80 M3 in a color other than black (Alpine White), which sometimes signals a more advanced stage of testing. Beyond that however, this is the first F80 prototype to sport BMW M Carbon Ceramic Brakes. One can tell that they are ceramic brakes by … CONTINUED
Check out the dyno results of an F10 M5 versus a C63 AMG Black Series and E63 AMG with Performance Package.
Video of the Hamann exhaust system for the F10 M5. Together with its ECU software tune, it bumps the M5′s power to 720hp and 900Nm (664 lb/ft) of torque.
Now here’s a shade of color that’s rare even among the custom BMW Individual colors that we’ve seen ordered for late model BMWs – Oxford Green, a color that hasn’t been offered as a standard BMW color for years now.
We would never have guessed that it would look so good on the 2013 M6 (F13) coupe, but it actually works pretty well in our opinion. Not many exterior colors can pull off a champagne tan interior such as this, but Oxford Green happens to … CONTINUED
A few M5POST members gathered over the new years eve weekend for some socializing, driving, and exhaust sound-off.
Check out the photos and video footage from the gathering and listen as the F10 M5 shows off the Eisenmann Sport, Eisenmann Race, and RPi GT exhaust systems.
Car and Driver shares their comparison pitting the F10 M5 versus the F13 M6 at the Anglesey Circuit in the UK to see if the M6 is truly better at the track than the M5, as advertised.
The M5 and M6 share the same 560hp powertrain, but the M6 is billed as being even more suited for the track with its lighter weight (about 100 pounds), lower center of gravity (due to lighter carbon roof and lower roofline) and slighter faster acceleration (about a tenth of … CONTINUED
Now that the 2014 M6 Gran Coupe has been officially announced and introduced by BMW, test prototypes are free to go full monty in public.
The photos below are from a sighting in Austria and shows the M6 Gran Coupe in what appears to be Moonstone Metallic (a BMW Individual color).
The M6 Gran Coupe will hit US showrooms in early Summer 2013 and share the same powertrain as its M6 coupe and convertible brethren – powered by the 4.4L TwinPower Turbo V8 (S63Tü) engine and outputting … CONTINUED
