Buried in the monstrous new press release on the new F10 M5, we noticed an interesting new feature called “Active Sound Design.”
Behind this marketing term is a fairly simple idea. The new M5 reproduces the car’s engine sound via the in-car audio system. In other word, if you’re sitting inside the car you not only hear the engine but also an audio track of the engine based on throttle input, speed, and engine rev. As BMW puts it, this makes for better feedback as you hear … CONTINUED

As we reported earlier, the engine of the F10 M5 isn’t a direct swap from the X5 M and X6 M but a substantially revised engine. Read the full interview below to learn more about the newly introduced VALVETRONIC, the principle of the cross bank exhaust manifold and more. An interesting tidbit: Unlike earlier M engines, the S63TU no longer needs 10W-60 oil.
Mr Poggel, … CONTINUED

M-Power.com has just published a new video starring the new M5, Claudia Huertgen, a German race car driver, and some happy passengers. This video includes some nice drifts and thus obviously doesn’t reflect the fastest possible time for the car.
Enjoy the new M5 during a fun lap on the Nurburgring. Also remember that … CONTINUED

M-Power.com visited him in Singapore and chronicled the event, which leaves no doubt he’s a car fanatic.
Just to name a few cars Benjamin owns, the following report … CONTINUED
