European Car reviews the new BMW M5 F10, which they call BMW’s twin turbo superhero. Their conclusion? The new M5 is every bit as tractable as the E60 M5 and its chassis and brakes are flat out superior. Unlike the E60 M5, the new M5 is more user friendly.
German magazine Autozeitung has pitted the new BMW M5 (F10) against its bigger cousin. The F10 M5 is powered the S63Tu, an improved version of the BMW X6M’s S63 engine. Given the S63Tu’s enhancements over the S63 and the F10 M5′s lighter weight, the M5 winning in all categories and placing in 1st is certainly not surprising.
What is interesting however is to see more real world F10 M5 performance test results.
They were able to get the F10 M5 from 0-100km/h (62mph) in 4.2 seconds and from 0-200km/h (124mph) in just 11.7 seconds, which is wicked fast.

Ben Barry at CAR magazine was apparently on Santa’s good-boys list as he’s currently driving a F10 M5 long term tester. And although he’s only had a few hundred miles behind the seat of this new M5, that’s more than nearly anyone else who’s not a BMW employee. So what’s Ben got to say about the M5 so far? This must have felt like Christmas for the folks at Autobild. Autobild knows what it takes to have a great story and has done a special edition on BMW M models, called “Fascination M.” In this special comparo, Autobild gives an overview of all current BMW M models as well as interesting insights into M GmbH. Most interestingly, Autobild pitted all (yes, all) currently available M models against each other on a German race track named Sachsenring.
The outcome? As you’d expect, the M3 CRT (it’s sold out but more info here) is the fastest M car Autobild has ever tested on Sachsenring as it clocked a 1:38.87 minute laptime (the M3 GTS isn’t available no more). An amazing second place goes to the brand-new F10 M5 … CONTINUED

Autocar is the first to come in with a direct head to head comparison of the F10 M5 against its competitors, in this case the E63 AMG and the Jaguar XF-R. They make their pick, although for very specific reasons which may not matter to those looking to make a decision for a daily driver. See the review inside.
The first drive acclaims for the 2012 M5 continue as Motor Trend posts their first take on the F10 M5. Calling it improved with age, like a bottle of fine wine, Motor Trend believes that the F10 M5 is better than the E60 M5 in every way. How’s that? See some excerpts inside.
EVO Magazine’s Chris Harris’ video review of the BMW F10 M5 has now been posted, following his initial print review.
After his initial drive, Harris called the 2012 BMW M5 “mostly awe-inspiring” and said that there is no other powertrain like this in a series production car. He called the F10 M5′s performance outrageous and gave it a full 5 star rating.

- Can you not rev the tits off it and still go quite quickly?
