The M5 Ring Taxi is officially back! Rides began recently (from Easter on) so it can now be booked. See the announcement below, via M-Power.com

For many, taking a trip in the BMW Ring-Taxi through the “Green Hell” is one of the most exciting experiences money can buy.

This will certainly be true again in 2012: from Easter the brand new BMW M5 will be used as the Ring-Taxi. There is space for up to three people to take a seat in the 560 bhp sedan and be driven by a well-versed BMW Driving Experience Instructor around the Nürburgring Nordschleife. An extra dash of adrenaline is guaranteed.

The BMW F10 M5 ring taxi started testing this week upon the opening of the Nurburgring testing season and we’ve now spotted not just one, but twin M5 ring taxis making their rounds on the Nurburgring, presumably for some final tweaking and evaluation. See some footage of the ring taxis inside.

The famous E60 M5 Ring Taxi was retired at the end of the 2010 season, with the E90 M3 Ring Taxi taking over duties for 2011. With the introduction of the all new M5 (F10) however, it looks the mighty M5 will again resume its Ring Taxi duties for the upcoming year/season.

Seen here for the first time is the F10 M5 Ring Taxi hitting the ring wearing its Ring Taxi uniform – in white with M stripes and Ring Taxi decals. It underwent many laps of hard testing runs on one of the first days of the 2012 Nurburgring testing season and it appears ready to begin taking passengers when the ride season begins.

Yet another highlight comes in from the ongoing M Festival. Following M Night, which saw the exciting introductions of the BMW M3 CRT and the 2012 BMW M5, BMW has now teased their new F10 M5 Ring Taxi for 2012 during the M Corso parade yesterday.

As most M enthusiasts know, BMW has been offering their famous Ring Taxi for years: for roughly 200 EUR, you and two friends can have quite the experience and enjoy a lap on the famous Nurburgring, driven by a professional BMW Driving Experience driver. The E60 M5 served as Ring Taxi in recent years, up until this year as the end of the E60′s production made BMW make the switch to an E90 M3.
