The 2012 BMW F12 M6 Convertible has lost most of its camouflage, so we’re happy to share the best shots to date. The F12 M6 has entered FEP or final evaulation phase, and this allows us a look at most of the signature M design and technology cues, including front bumpers, rear bumpers, and side skirts.

Despite some light disguise you can already see the sportier bumpers and huge air intakes needed to feed the 4.4-litre Twin-Power V8 engine internally dubbed S63 – we expect an output of roughly 580hp. This prototype appears to still have some camouflage tape over the rear bumpers, but these shots reveal a rear diffusor similar to the F10 M5.

It’s been a while since the upcoming F13/F12 M6 coupe and cabrio have been spotted, but we now bring you a set of photos for both.

One of the M6 prototypes has lost the camouflage on its rear lights, giving us an idea of just how aggressive it will look. Although much of the front fascia remains covered in camouflage tape, it will resemble the recently revealed 6-series Coupe (official info and photos), but with an M styled bumper of course. The front brakes feature huge calipers with cross drilled rotors front and rear. Traditional quad exhausts are seen at the rear, surrounded by a still-camouflaged rear bumper which will also sport M-styling.

Spied here is the 2012 M6 coupe with less camouflage than previously seen. The wheels appear to be for testing only as their offsets are clearly too high for the M6′s fenders.

It’s been nearly 4 months since the all new 2013 M6 convertible was spotted, but it’s appeared yet again, and in the most unlikely time and place possible – Northern Sweden in the dead of winter. Now that the 6-series convertible has been officially debuted, BMW has moved onto the development of the top of the line 6-series cabrio.

The M6 prototype now sports the production M6 bumper underneath heavy front camouflage. Other signature M features already seen are the quad exhausts and huge front brakes. The wheels seen here are winter wheels/tires for testing purposes only.

This 6-series convertible image has been posted without much fanfare on Autobild.de. Could it possibly be a leak of the upcoming 2012 6-series convertible? Possible as we don’t recall seeing a similar image upon which the render could be based. If this is indeed the 6-series convertible, it looks to be the 650i cabrio (with style 356 wheels), which will begin production in March 2011. The F13 6-series will come with a traditional cloth roof.

Here is the BMW announced production schedule for the F12 / F13 6-series coupe and convertible.

MY 2012:

March 2011 – 650cv
July 2011 – 650cp
September 2011 – 640cp/cv
September 2011 – 650xi cp/cv

Here are our latest spy photos of the 2012 M6 Coupe (F12) and Convertible (F13). The coupe is showing a camouflaged front bumper but the production wheel design, and the convertible is not yet testing with its production bumper. The coupe will look essentially like the 6-series coupe concept debuted at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, albeit with M body styling and other bits.

The new M6 Coupe will debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2012. The M6 Cabrio will follow later in 2012. An M6 Gran Coupe (4 door) will arrive in late 2013. A Possible M6 Shooting brake is under consideration.

We bring you the first look at the 2012 M6 cabrio (F13) in testing. Previous M6 sightings have all been of the M6 coupe. This M6 test mule features a cloth top and still wears the bumper from the regular 6-series, but features the signature M quad exhausts, large wheels, and huge brakes. Although we have gotten a glimpse at the production bumper previously here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=420642

The F12/F13 M6 will share the same engine as the upcoming F10 M5 – the turbocharged 8 cylinder motor from the X5 and X6 M (the BMW S63 engine, a 4.4L twin turbo, twin scroll, direct injection), expected to come in at the 585-600hp mark.
