We promised recently to try to get answers for some commonly asked questions our members have about the M5 and M6 Competition Package which begins production this month, and here they are below. First, a primer on the package:

The F80 M3 has been spotted with a camouflaged roof. How is this significant? Well, its brother, the F82 M4 Coupe has often been spotted with a camouflaged roof (as well as an optional top with moonroof), which typically indicates the presence of a carbon fiber roof, but the F80 M3 Sedan has never been seen with a camouflaged top, until now.
This F80 M3 prototype was spotted by a BIMMERPOST member while it undergoes hot weather testing in Las Vegas (where it recently hit 117F degrees) and is accompanied by some F15 X5 M prototypes. The newly available rear-wheel drive 2014 X5 sDrive35i will start at $53,725 and the 2014 BMW X5 xDrive35i is priced at $56,025. The 2014 BMW X5 xDrive35d price is $57,525 and the 2014 BMW X5 xDrive50i will start at $69,125. All prices include $925 destination and handling.

An interactive 3D modeler of the M235i Coupe is now available at Humster3D. This digitally modeled version is based off the revealing spy photos of the M235i we posted last month.
Generally speaking, it does a decent job at previewing the M235i, although it does have to make some predictions as to the rear view and tail lights, which remain partially covered in the spy photos. Its surfacing is also too flat in some areas, as the actual M235i’s hood and front fascia have more shape and curves.

We’ve spotted the BMW M235i Coupe again and although it remains in the previous stage of camouflage (you’ve seen it revealed in the photos below anyway), this is our first ever look at the 2 Series Coupe versus its older brother to be, the 4 Series Coupe.
Next to the 435i, the M235i appears to be a bit taller. But, it’s clearly narrower and cuts a squatter figure than the sleeker and more stretched 435i coupe. Remember too, that the 2 Series prototype still wears some heavy camouflage on its hind quarters and rear, which gives its rear half a bulkier appearance than on the production model.

Spy photos of the upcoming 2014 BMW 228i coupe in Orion Silver.
The 228i coupe will join the M235i coupe as the first two 2 Series models available in the US. Both models will begin production in November 2013, as a 2014 model year.
The following spy photos of the M235i shows you what to expect underneath the camouflage in terms of the car’s sides and the front end – with a different front bumper design of course.

The reveal of the all new 2014 BMW X5 (F15) is imminent, but testing continues on the F15 X5 M.
Testing on the F15 X5 M began last year [first sighting], but current mules have now dropped much camouflage. What’s revealed are the expected signature M components – huge front air intakes, aggressive sideskirts and rear diffuser, blue M brakes, and cross drilled rotors (the first for any X5 model). We also get a better look at the quad exhaust pipes which, unlike the current X5 M, feature a new angled design (like we’ve seen on the F82 M4 prototypes).
The F15 X5 is expected to weigh less than the current E70 X5 and ride on a modified version of the F10 5 series chassis. As for … CONTINUED
