If you’ve been tracking our homepage or this M3 section, you’ve surely seen the flurry of F80 M3 test mule sightings in the past week or so [spy pics].
Not only have the sightings become more frequent, but they’ve also been more revealing. With the latest rounds of spy photos, we now have a fairly good idea of what to expect from the 2014 M3 sedan’s front end styling.
The F80 will feature a hood bump and a very aggressive front bumper/apron with a what looks to be a mix of elements from the M6 and 1M’s styling – M6 style air vents with fins at the top and an upwardly angled top line, potentially paired with 1M styled air curtain vent styling and position.

Although the M135i will not be available in the North American market, it’s recently been rumored that a M235i coupe (2 Series coupe version of the M135i) will be the first M Performance Automobile to be introduced to the US market. Keep in mind that a M235i coupe model will not be a replacement for an expected future M2 coupe model – the successor to the E82 1M Coupe. Instead, it’s a model which can be viewed as the successor to the current 135is coupe, to slot in between the standard 235i coupe and the M2.

The 2014 M3 (F80) prototype which was spotted in Los Angeles this past weekend has made its way into the California Mojave Desert’s Death Valley for high temperature testing.
With high temperature testing always comes the removal of some front end camouflage, necessary to increase the prototypes’ air intake and cooling; which makes us the indirect beneficiaries of ever better looks at an exposed front end.
Yesterday’s F80 M3 spy pics (some copied below) gave us the best idea yet of the lines and shape of the front end styling, and today’s sighting adds to that by showing us some even more details – particular the lines of the front bumper air vents which could not be seen through the cloth covered front apron from yesterday’s photos.

The F80 M3 sedan is coming together visually bit by bit with each new sighting of the development mules, and it’s looking sportier by the spotting.
We recently brought you the first look at the F80 M3 hood bulge, and now we share with you the first glimpse of the F80 M3′s front end styling, which will feature an aggressive design much like the 2013 M6′s very attractive front fascia, with a pinch of 1M styling thrown in.
Although still covered in a cloth covering, the shapes and lines of the M3 front bumper are now easily seen and there’s no mistaking its M6 like design (see the comparison photo below). The F34 3 Series GT (Gran Turismo) is just months from its debut and the first F34 chassis has now been spotted.
The 3 Series GT will feature a similar engine lineup to the F30 3 Series and we expect its public debut to possibly come at the 2013 NAIAS in January (if it will be sold in the US) or 2013 Geneva show in March.

The 2014 BMW F80 M3 and M6 Gran Coupe have landed stateside, with the first spotting coming in Los Angeles!
We have added more photos of the first F82 M4 Coupe prototype spotted last week. Full gallery inside.
The Z4 LCI refresh may be a bit overdue, but these first photos of the refreshed Z4 show us that it’s on its way.
The photos reveal that the LCI will be more of a “lightlift” than a facelift. The only changes come to the side fender gills and the lighting elements inside the headlights and tail lights. Their shapes will not see any changes. The angel eyes are brighter LED and we can expect some updated lighting accoutrements underneath the masking.
We expect the Z4 LCI to hit the market early next year.
So sorry folks, we don’t mean to cry wolf, but upon closer inspection we believe that this prototype is actually the 3 Series GT.
With some of its rear camouflage removed, it revealed a sleeker hind roofline and rear, which gave it the appearance of a fastback/coupe-sedan, which we mistook for the 4 Series Gran Coupe. We apologize for the mistake.
The silver lining is that the 3 Series GT is looking sleeker/sportier than ever.
