Only 3 months remain until the production BMW X4 (F26) is introduced to the world at the 2014 Geneva auto show, making it 11 months between the concept first debuted at the Shanghai auto show and the production debut next March.
Prototypes testing continues and we have some more photos to show you. Although the production X4 has already been caught undisguised recenty (photos), below are pics which also show the scale of the X4 compared to the X3, with which it shares a platform. … CONTINUED
The 2015 Mustang has just been revealed and Ford has revealed that it was benchmarked against the E90/E92 M3 during development. Together with its new independent rear suspension, will the Mustang give the upcoming M4 coupe a run for its money? Or, does it already lag behind the upcoming M3 and M4 by virtue of having been benchmarked against a now discontinued model?
We’ve just spied some latest M4 and M3 prototypes. The M4 Coupe is seen in Sakhir Orange while the M3 is painted in Alpine White. Both cars feature the optional M Carbon Ceramic Brakes.
The gauges can be seen in the M4 coupe and they look to be the same as the ones we previously showed you (see photos reposted below), with a redline starting around 7500 RPM (rev limiter to kick in a bit after that).
Both cars will have their world premieres at the … CONTINUED
A preview look at the BMW M4 F82 Coupe in Yas Marina Blue, a new standard color for the upcoming F80 M3 and F82 M4.
Testing on the second generation BMW X5 M continues while the prototypes shed some camouflage. This is the first red F85 X5 M we’ve seen and as with earlier prototypes, it wears the signature M components – huge front air intakes, more aggressive sideskirts and rear diffuser, blue M brakes, and cross drilled rotors (the first for any X5 model). We also have a better look at the quad exhaust pipes which, unlike the current X5 M, feature a new angled design (same as … CONTINUED
One of the unknowns surrounding the BMW X4, which will make its debut at the 2014 Geneva show in March, is whether it will be offered in a full blown M model (i.e. X4 M) like its bigger cousins – the X5 M and X6 M. Early indications have been no.
But a new report suggests that although a full fledged M model may not be in BMW’s plans, a diesel M Performance Model may be. This is according to statements made in a recent … CONTINUED
We bring you the first live look at the 2016 X1 (F48) prototypes. The F48 recently began its testing a couple of months ago and while still heavily camouflaged, the test mules reveal a brawnier and stockier look than the current E84 X1. Compared to the E84, the F48 X1 features a shorter front end, shortened overhangs and a taller and more upright greenhouse. While some may mistaken the E84 X1 for a larger wagon, there’s no mistaking the upcoming F48 X1 as a … CONTINUED
The BMW M4 Concept has been making the rounds at many venues, beginning with its debut at the Pebble Beach week three months ago.
It’s now making its auto show premiere at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, the only auto show that it will be making an appearance. That’s because the next major auto show – the 2014 Detroit NAIAS in January will feature the dual world premieres of the production 2014 M3 (F80) and 2014 M4 (F82).
What will the production models bring? The M4 … CONTINUED
Picked up German magazine Sport Auto today. It features an interview with BMW M development chief Albert Biermann and a ride in the M4 with Biermann driving.
This is my translation of the major parts of this article. My apologies for bad sentences or missed meanings (I have tried my best from a hotel room after a long day at work…):
The BMW 4 Series Gran F36 has been spied in action on video.
Check out how the car looks on the road and on the track.
Have a listen at the F80 M3 with its bi-turbo s55 inline 6 cylinder engine and exhaust during a cold start.
This M3 sounds a bit ‘off’, particularly during idle, so perhaps the exhaust is still being tuned on this car or the recording device has distorted the actual sound. The M3/M4 has sounded better in previous videos (reposted below).
Some sites have been reporting the above image as a leaked official photo, but as you can see below, it’s simply a photoshopped image of an official wallpaper image of the 435i Convertible (source) using styling elements from the M4 Concept. Hence the oddly angled front wheel.
The real M4 convertible should not be much different than the photoshopped image however, as it will share exterior styling with the production M4 Coupe, which will adopt its styling from the M4 Concept.
