The M135i hatchback will soon receive a sibling in the BMW lineup by way of the M235i coupe. They will share the same heart - the N55 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine making approximately 315-320hp, as well as the same transmission and other mechanicals. On paper, the two should achieve similar performance numbers, with a slight edge potentially going to the M235i coupe.

As for exterior differences, it’s clear from these comparison photos. Besides the clear form factor difference (coupe versus hatchback), the M235i gets an overall sleeker look, especially the front end with its more aggressive bumper and large upsweeping air intakes, and slimmer headlights and kidney grilles.

No official specs have yet been released for the 2 Series, so we will compare physical specs (dimensions, weight, … CONTINUED

Now that we’ve spied an uncovered 2 Series, let’s take a look at how it stacks up visually against what will be one of main competitors - the Mercedes CLA sedan (with Sport package). One may be a coupe and the other a sedan with coupe-like styling, but this is the closest match we have, until the rumored 2 Series Gran Coupe is revealed.

Once the 2 Series official specs and photos are released, we’ll put together another comparo comparing official photos, as well as physical specs.

Here is the M235i coupe, fully uncovered (save for the covering on the back). But, nearly the entire car is revealed here!

Non-fans of the F20 1 Series front design with its in-your-face headlights and blunt nose look will appreciate the much sportier 2 series coupe front end, with significantly sleeker headlights and grilles.

The front air intakes are large and aggressively shaped, with the fins that we spied in the last M235i sighting. As on the prototypes, the wheels are from the M135i, as are the blue M Performance brakes. Unfortunately, the hood shut line retains its position high above the kidney grilles.

The side fender features an M badge, but no air breather vent as seen on BMW’s newest models (4 series coupe, 3 series GT). … CONTINUED

The BMW M235i coupe continues testing on the Nurburgring, this time in Valencia Orange. While this prototype remains in the same level of camouflage as previously sighted prototypes, it does give us a glimpse at the M235i’s front end design.

What the M235i reveals through the heavy front end camo are large air intake vents with fins like those featured on the M6 and spied on the upcoming M3/M4. You can also see the bottom of the bumper’s splitters poking out below the camouflage. These seem to resemble those on the M135i hatchback. Taken together, what we may see once the camouflage is revealed is a blend of the M135i and M6 front bumper styling, as previewed in the render below (courtesy of Topspeed).

The reveal of the all new 2014 BMW X5 (F15) is imminent, but testing continues on the F15 X5 M.

Testing on the F15 X5 M began last year [first sighting], but current mules have now dropped much camouflage. What’s revealed are the expected signature M components - huge front air intakes, aggressive sideskirts and rear diffuser, blue M brakes, and cross drilled rotors (the first for any X5 model). We also get a better look at the quad exhaust pipes which, unlike the current X5 M, feature a new angled design (like we’ve seen on the F82 M4 prototypes).

The F15 X5 is expected to weigh less than the current E70 X5 and ride on a modified version of the F10 5 series chassis. As for … CONTINUED

We’ve gotten another look at the F15 X5’s interior and it provides the best idea yet of what it will look like once revealed.

Interior / Wheels

The F15 X5’s general dashboard design takes after the F30 3 Series with a multi-layered look. Compared to the current X5 (E70), the next X5’s dashboard has also become more driver-centric, a design element seen in recent new BMW models. It will also be more upright compared to the current X5’s dashboard, which angles and curves away sharply from the driver and passenger. See a comparison image below.

Following on the design of the newest BMW models, the next X5 will feature a large free-standing navigation/infotainment LCD screen. This screen looks to be the 8.8 inch panel used in the latest … CONTINUED

All BMW F82 M4 coupe prototypes spotted have been in black, until now. We spotted this Silverstone (?) looking F82 M4 prototype in Garching, where BMW M is headquartered.

Have a look at how deliciously wide the rear fenders are!
