Here are the first in-the-wild pics of the X1 LCI (facelift) and US-spec X1 models, courtesy of Palbay. The Marrakesh Brown X1 is an xDrive35i model in xLine package and the Titanium Silver X1 is also an xDrive35i model, but with the Sport Line package.

The 2013 BMW X1 has been announced for the US market and is making its US premiere at the 2012 NYIAS currently underway.
The X1 arrives in dealerships in the Fall in three models:
sDrive28i (240hp, RWD, starts at $31,545)
xDrive28i (240hp, AWD, starts at $33,245)
xDrive35i (300hp, AWD, starts at $39,345)
The 28i models receive an 8 speed automatic transmission and the xDrive35i uses an 6 speed auto transmission.

New BMW M6 Convertible and BMW X1 Sport Activity Vehicle to Make World Debuts at the New York International Auto Show.

At the Geneva Motorshow we learned that the X1 (in LCI facelift form) for the US market will be debuted at next month’s NY International Auto Show. It should be on sale in the US in early Fall as a xDrive28i model (with 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder N20 engine).
The X1′s introduction to the US market may be laying the path for a rumored X1 M35i, which would be the first M Performance Automobile for the North American market.
According to BMW insider Scott26, there’s a new BMW M Performance model coming – the X1 M35i xDrive (or xDriveM35i)! This new model will finally usher the X1 into the US market and will feature the LCI/facelift/refreshed look, as well as represent the first M Performance vehicle to be available for the North American market.

According to Autoweek.com, the BMW X1 SAV’s US market launch has been delayed again – until the end of 2012. The reasons they cite for the delay are the strong demand for the new X3 and because X1 is selling well outside the United States so supplies are tight.
Congrats to our Canadian members as they are now the first North American market to get a crack at the BMW X1 SAV. BMW Canada previously confirmed that the X1 will go on sale in Canada this year, and in case you have not yet seen, the X1 configurator has now been online at BMW Canada’s website for a few weeks.
Currently, the only X1 model available in Canada is the xDrive28i, featuring BMW’s all new twinpower turbo 4-cylinder engine (N20), good for 241hp / 258lb-ft torque. … CONTINUED
Following BMW’s announcement yesterday, here’s full information on the M-Sport Package for the BMW X1. As you can see from the pictures, most prominent feature is the M aerodynamics package including M door sills and High Gloss Shadow Line. According to C&D, BMW has confirmed that the X1′s release in the US market has been delayed until the Fall of this year due to unexpectedly high demand for the model in Europe. Evidently, the Leipzig, Germany, production plant in which the X1 is built (alongside the 1-series) can barely make enough of them for the European market, and to add the considerable demand of the U.S. market to the production fray is not possible at this point.
