BMW today announced new BMW M Performance Parts specially designed for the new 2012 BWW 3 Series Sedan and 2011-2012 5 Series Sedan. Like the BMW M Performance Parts already available for the high-performance M3, 1 Series M Coupe, X5 M and X6 M, the components developed for 3 Series and 5 Series models ensure an authentic transfer of BMW M-specific motor racing technology to everyday driving.
This new line of accessories provides a distinctive, sporty character to further enhance driving dynamics. BMW launched and announced its initial M Performance Parts lineup officially at the 2012 Geneva Motorshow. While the now released M Performance Parts official catalog explains much, we took some time to find out some more details for you. Please give us a quick overview on the M Performance Parts. What’s the motive for ‘renaming’ the Performance Parts program to M Performance Parts?
M Performance Parts are now available for the new 1 series, 3 series, and 5 series. There are many different product categories like exhaust systems, engine tuning, drivetrain, suspension, and interior/exterior. We develop these parts together with the engineers of M GmbH. In this video, the Product Managers of BMW’s new M Performance Parts retrofit accessories explain and show us the philosophies, process, and techniques behind the development of the BMW M Performance Parts. As one can see, the M Performance Parts are developed in collaboration with BMW M designers and engineers for both visual and performance enhancements.
As soon as the production vehicle process is completed, the technical sketch and design phase for M Performance Parts begins. Only real carbon fiber is used in the production of M Performance Parts components.

It’s official: Only a couple of days after the first teaser, BMW announces their new M Performance Parts. Think of this program as the successor of the Performance parts avaiable for E8x 1 series and E9x 3 series.
Intitially, M Performance parts will be available for the F30 3 series, the F10 5 series, and the F20 1 series (not available in the US). Available are:
