EAS has dynoed a 2013 M6 DCT coupe. The M6 with its S63Tu motor is rated from the factory at 560hp / 502 lb-ft torque. This particular M6 put down a max 503hp / 488lb-ft torque (SAE) at the rear wheels. This was achieved on regular 91 octane pump gas and a Dynojet 224xLC.
There are still slots open for free dynos, so check inside if you are from the SoCal area and would like to run your F10 M5 or F12/F13 M6 on the dyno.
The 2013 F10 M5 with its 4.4L V8 S63Tu turbo engine has previously been shown to be underrated from the factory, which is BMW’s habit with its official quote power figures.
The latest results showing this come from iND who have just begun performance testing on their F10 M5. The result was 527 RWHP (rear wheel horsepower) on a totally stock F10 M5 running on pump gas and dyno’d on a dynojet. This represents just a 6% drivetrain loss.
The M5′s S63tu V8 runs a higher compression at 10.0:1 (@ 22 PSI), compared to the X5M/X6M S63 engine’s 9.3:1 (@ 17 PSI).
Here are the results of Sport Auto’s comparison test among the M5 F10, Panamera Turbo S, and E63 AMG Performance Package. The M5 doesn’t come out on top in the raw number categories, but still gets the nod from Sport Auto for its handling and overall dynamic package.
